I took my family on vacation for a week in May and had a very disappointing experience at Mystic Dunes. The rooms were dirty to say the least and I moved my family to Star Island Resorts & Club.
At Star Island Resort & Club I was greeted by a friendly, professional staff that was more than happy to assist me and my family. One of the Front Desk Agents, Mildred Alvardo, went above and beyond to ensure that a suite was available and we were checked in without issue. She knew of the horrible experience we had just come from and she was sympathetic to our situation. She even planned on staying late just to make sure that we had the proper accommodations. Ms. Alvardo is an asset to the Star Island Resort & Club. She provided me and my family with superior customer service. On behalf of me and family, thank you Mildred for taking the time to assist us.

For my 2 wk stay I got to listen to a bunch of drunks doing karaoke from 10 to 1 every night on the PA system, I guess it didn't mean anying to management that people had to get up at 6 or 7 to go to the theme parks, I will be selling my 2 units at Star Island. Ps I stayed at Cypress Palms for one night, they have quit time from 11to 7am, that was nice I got a good nights sleep. « less

Love this resort! This is our third trip here and we had no complaints at all. The 2-bedroom unit we were in was clean, well furnished and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We were in Building 25 and we did not get the morning or afternoon sun on our patio which made it very comfortable because it was 90 degrees. It is only about a 10 minute drive to Disney and so many choices of restaurants so very close. The pool is fantastic especially for children and the putt-putt golf is a nice addition. We refuse to attend the timeshare sales pitches because we already own 2 timeshares elsewhere - South Carolina and Blowing Rock, NC. We will definitely be back again! « less

Well-maintained grounds; pleasant check-in experience; easy check-out, OK workout gym - and that about ends the positives. The condo is definitely large enough - kitchen was well equipped if with older, lower-end appliances. The carpet was so damp that a fan had to be brought it and ran for the 8 days we were there - never completely dried out; the place had a vaguely smoke-like and musty smell mixed with some kind of cooking that also did not diminish over the time we were there - always equally strong every time we entered. Black mould on the ceiling part of the shower that started out as just a few small areas and was about 25% of the shower ceiling area by the time that we left - front desk person was completely indifferent and unresponsive when notified of this on check out. Would have asked for another room but we were out from early morning until later in the evening every day - visiting attractions in the area - so just put up with it. The washer/dryer were just fine - just noisy - although barely noticed above the sound of the constant fan. The grounds and common areas are very well-maintained. « less
