We just checked out from a 5 night stay at the Grande Villas and our family loved it. We stayed in the one bedroom unit and our kids slept on the pull out couch. The bedroom had a sliding door to separate it from where the kids slept - which was nice. The condo was very clean and most things looked new and fresh. The kitchenette was small but fairly well stocked with dishes, pots, and pans. The bathroom had a granite double vanity, garden tub, and separate shower.
Right outside there was a big pool, huge hot tub, play ground, mini-golf, and several other activities. When we checked in, we were given a map of the grounds that included the neighboring resort so we felt free to use their facilities too. Their pool had water slides and a cool volcano feature. It also had a volley ball court and several other activities.
Overall, we felt we got an amazing value and if we come back to Orlando, we hope to stay here again. « less

We booked this hotel for two nights through a Groupon. The hotel is literally down the street from Downtown Disney. It's a great location. We had a two bedroom condo. The space was perfect for us as we have an infant and a toddler and needed separate bedrooms for everyone to sleep comfortably. Unfortunately, we were put in one of the hotel towers that had not be renovated yet. The building was a bit run down, appliances were old, and the carpeting in the room was damaged and dirty. When I say dirty...I mean filthy. Walking over the carpet a few times left our feet black. I don't know what was in the carpet, and at first, I couldn't believe the carpet was making our feet black...but it was. This was a real pain, since I have a crawling infant, who is difficult to keep off the floor. I suspect they are putting the Groupon recipients in this old building. In a separate issue, the transformer blew while we were there, and for about 9 hours on our second day, we had no power. Not sure if this is a maintenance issue or just a fluke, but it was inconvenient, especially to have no A/C in 80+ degree weather. The pools are nice, but there is little shade around them. They do have a small playground and a free putt putt course, which is cool but a little run down as well.
Be aware as well that this place appears to be part of a timeshare, and twice they tried to get us to attend some seminar to sign up for more vacations with them. « less

A Living Social deal made this hotel difficult to pass up to end our vacation in April 2013. We booked a three-night stay in a one-bedroom suite. If you are just looking for a place to crash for a couple of nights after some adventures in Disney, this is not your best option. If you're planning on spending a week or more, and you're not planning on spending every waking minute in the parks, this might be a better choice. Also, be advised that parking became a challenge after dinner.
The most impressive parts of the Grande Villas Resort are the common areas and the location. The heated pool and hot tub areas are wonderful. You have a few grills available if you want to BBQ, and there's a convenient market on the property for snacks, drinks, supplies, and even fresh pizza. There's even a miniature golf course and playground for the kids. And you are very close to the Disney parks and Downtown Disney, as well as plenty of restaurants and other shopping choices. We didn't take advantages of any of the resort's activities, but they seemed to work hard to make the place more than just a bunch of hotel rooms. FYI, there is no free breakfast and no daily maid service.
The room itself was ... odd. If it were an apartment, you'd call it "cozy." The layout has a lot of angles -- and for all the space in the room, much of it is not usable. The expansive bathroom, for example, provides a sharp contrast to the small eat-in kitchen. Our room also had no luggage rack, which was a major inconvenience. It was also noisy at night between the activities in the common areas and our loud upstairs neighbors, both of which could be heard in our room. The small, screened-in balcony was a nice touch, but I'd rather have a wall to keep out the sound than glass doors that failed to keep things quiet. The room itself was clean but well used.
We did not have a bad stay, far from it. The noisy neighbors were gone after the first night, the bed was comfortable, and we loved the pools and hot tubs (finally, a resort that understands that "hot tub" does not mean "scalding tub"). Still, it's really a place better suited for families who plan to hang out at the resort for a while, not just wake up early and hit the theme parks. « less

We had a 2-bedroom unit for 5 nights. We got an excellent price thru a discount travel site. The beds were comfortable and the master bath was well designed. The kitchen is very well-equipped. You could hear the neighbor thru the connecting door, but had to really stand next to it to hear any noise. Otherwise, it was very quiet. We had a few meals from the Market Place and the food was good. The WIFI service is provided by a third party company and it was very slow, especially considering you had to pay extra for it. We did not use the pool or the mini-golf that are on site. There are lots of restaurants in the area and it is very close to I-4. « less

This property is clean, comfortable and in an excellent location for visiting Disney Parks. The rooms could do with refurbishment, although I believe some have been done up and have new taps, door handles etc. The sofas and chairs are a little worn and the furniture dark wood, but that is its character. Their are three pools (one children's) as well as a spa. The pool area is excellent and for that day you fancy relaxing, their is always plenty of loungers, chairs and umberella's. The resort is very handy for the Disney parks only a very short drive into Downtown Disney and the theme parks. Pubs and restaurants are within walking distance as is supermarkets and shops. All in all a good base to stay. « less
