The website didn't say that they were under construction. We ended up in a smoking room that they made non smoking that day. The front desk personnel put us in a room where the construction was getting done above us. The workers were doing the construction at 12:00 midnight and we had to go to the front desk to complain about the construction and the phone in the room didn't work for us to call the front desk. They had no consideration for there guests. I will never go to this Econo Lodge again and won't refer anyone. « less

WARNING if you want to spend a night in the Virginia Beach are avoid this Econo Lodge they ripe me off for $ 95.00. I made reservation for a Sunday and when I got there the desk said that my reservation was for the Saturday night before, no refund and the manager would not respond to my calls or email. You can also see that they wouldn't respond to the BBB. Please pass this on to all your friends we need to let people know. So i Had reservation there, and I went to Front desk to check In. The Indian lady was just sitting there and talk on the phone in her Language (Gujrati). Even tho I was standing right front of her. Once She hung up. She tried to check me In. and My CC decline and she told me I have to call choice hotels to change CC, even though she had option to change CC information in her system. and I told her I will go out and make phone call to them to change my CC. Soon as I went out and called Customer Service they told me my reservation was cancel. I went in there and talked to that indian lady. She gave me attitude and told me I cancel your reservation becasue my CC coming decline. I offer her to put of differnt CC , but she just won't do it. She proablly didnt want me to stay in her hotel. Shes racist. Would never go to this hotel again. and recommend not to go. After looking at the hotel. Hotel look like a trash. « less

I will not be staying at this place again. Me, my boyfriend, and a few friends were needing a place to stay just for a few hours to get in some rest. We checked in pretty late, about two in the morning. When we finally got checked in and carried all of our stuff to the third floor, we didn't realized until we opened the door to our room that it was already occupied. The lady inside was so startled, she gave out this loud scream which scared the life out of me...My boyfriend went down stairs to get us another room only to find out that the next room given to us was a smoking room, when we had requested a non-smoking room. By now, their security guy has come up to check on why we were walking back and forth so late at night. We went back down to the lobby to get the situation straightend out, the lady at the front desk was not apologetic at all...We finally settled into the third room by 2:30...I have no complaint about the room except there was a used roll of toilet tissue still in the bathroom and no extra roll...We did not receive the "free high speed Internet" like advertised and our room didn't even have a door guard. As I said before, I will not be going back there again. « less

I thought the hotel was fine. The room was ok, but a bit hard to get to the room with the stairs. Room was clean and service was ok. My biggest complaint is all the "people" hanging around outside and outside some of the rooms that didn't look like the most honest bu nch. If I had to bet, I's say there was some drug dealing going on later in the evening. Plus some of these people were guests of the hotel. I thought the hotel was good, but wouldn't stay again due to the people in the parking lot. I actually stayed down the street on my way back through about 10 days later and although the hotel was not any better, I liked my stay a great deal more. « less
