The next morning, the included breakfast is kind of lacking. Not much there and what was there was just there. If you go there for a cruise, make sure you get Harold! He is a very nice, fun person! We had stayed at this hotel last April and had a decent (but not great) experience. Still it was enough to make us come back. However, I am not sure I would come back again. It does have a park and cruise rate, which includes 8 days of parking and a ride to (AND FROM!) the port. This was good. Our car was fine, shuttle was timely in taking us to the port and bringing us back. The hotel itself was lacking. The lobby is beautiful- that is the only part like that. Even the lobby restrooms were dirty and run down looking. The room smelled like mildew, all of our clothes smelled like it as well. There was a hair pin on the floor and it looked like the room had not been vacuumed recently. I went to give my daughter a bath and had to clean out the tub. That is when I discovered we had no shower curtain, no roll (holder) for the toilet paper, and no soap or shampoo. It was as if they started to clean the room and did not finish (giving the benefit of the doubt). A visit to the front desk took care of it quickly enough. Also, the carpet felt wet, kind of like I might expect in a beach front hotel. But it was not a beach hotel. The restaurant had 25 cent wings and specials on beers, but it took a long time to get the food. Wings were not how we had ordered them, but with the amount of time we waited, we just dealt with them. There were about 4 tables occupied in the restaurant, so I do not know why the service was lacking so much. Breakfast- was okay. They seemed to run out of everything- forks, napkins, etc. and the one person working (same waitress we had the night before), seemed to only know how to replenish one thing at a time (i.e. she would replenish spoons but not forks and napkins). Food was not great but passable. Last year was much better. They did eventually have forks and napkins- as we were getting ready to leave. I might stay here again as a place to sleep and park my car before a cruise, but the price was a little high considering what we got. So, from the start, I had booked 2 king rooms but was told that only one was available and I would have to take the other as 2 doubles. Not so bad. Arrived late Friday. I failed to mention the constant wet carpet in front of the bathroom because of not wanting a double room, as well. The room was lacking in cleanliness. By Saturday at noon, there was no hot water and it remained that way until we left on Monday morning. Apparently, after two inquires I found out that the hot water heater on the 3rd floor was out. They wished to move us after 3 on the final night there. I declined the move given that we were planning to be out all day and most of the night. After the second complaint, I finally was told that I would be credited $50 to my card for each room. I was okay with that and tried to smile through the cold washcloth bath from the sink. When I checked out only one room was credited. So I asked if they could also credit the other. On checking my bank account, I discovered that neither room was credited (however, I do understand there is a lag in crediting) but also $50 more dollars was charged to my account and then another $50 and the $5.88 the next day. On futher investigation, I discovered that the card I reserved the rooms with but did not pay for them with was charged as well as my other card. So the hell of the trip continues.
