Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff and a delicious warm chocolate chip cookie. Check in and out was a breeze. As I am a Hilton Member we were on the 8th Floor. We also had access to the loung on the 10th Floor. It has free water and soft drinks, some light snacks, a computer and TV. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. There was also plenty of storage. The main attraction for us was the free shuttle to Sawgrass Mills. We made many trips for shopping and restaurants. There was a ground level car park just next to the hotel, and a large (free) multi-storey just opposite. Worth pointing out that ‘just opposite’ doesn’t mean across the busy W Sunrise Blvd, but 20 yards across the small service road that goes by the main entrance to the hotel. As others have mentioned there is a shuttle to Sawgrass Mills but, as it is just across the road, we drove over – you could walk but those car parks at Sawgrass are huge so it would be quite a walk in the heat. There’s not much else round there except for the mall, but it’s only a 30 minute drive to Fort Lauderdale’s beaches and about 20 minutes from the airport (FLL) so it’s a good place for a pre or post flight/cruise stopover. We booked a couple of the standard double rooms, just for the 1 night and they were a good size and very comfortable – nothing really stood out, but there were no issues either. For breakfast I ate a la carte, but wished I’d selected the buffet. My pancakes were a bit dry, but the food that came from the buffet looked good and the others I was with confirmed how nice it was. The best improvement however...was the resturant. Definately try the breakfast buffet. The food is delicious, plenty of choices and the staff friendly. It was disappointing though that the hot tub was broken for our entire stay. Booking this hotel on Hotwire for a great price, I just shrugged it off. However, if I paid the $200 dollars a night the last reviewer paid I would have been upset as a hot tub is something you would expect from a hi-end hotel chain.
