Below is what I sent to our group contact at the hotel. Let me start by saying that my group will never be staying at your hotel again, nor will we recommend it to anyone. It is really hard to believe that we will be paying you $2,500 for the service and quality that we experienced at your hotel. We were under contract with your hotel, in that contract it stated a 3 PM check in. When some of my group arrived they weren't even asked their names or their group name before someone from your front desk looked at them and said check in isn't until 4. Marcus was great with me when I was trying to check in and my group didn't get treated in the same manner. What you are calling a “welcome reception” is ridiculous. You covered one beverage and provided us with cheese and crackers. During this time we had to sit in a hot bar and deal with a rude Bartender. She didn't want anything to do with my group. No smiling, no what can I get you, just attitude. After a two and a half hour wait for our rooms, two people in our group had to move their room because when they got in the carpet had been pulled up and there were box fans running to try and dry the carpet from where the room had flooded! The majority of my group had keys that didn't work, including myself. The rooms looked like they hadn't even been dusted in years. There was brown rings around the ceiling and the towels and sheets were stained as well. The pool looks nothing like what you advertise on your website. Actually NOTHING at your hotel is what is advertised on your website. The next day nothing was different. We went down to have breakfast, no service, no plates, no silverware, no napkins, no drinks. The elevators wouldn't work right. After having to wait about 10 minutes for the elevator to even get to you, the floor buttons would completely go blank and the elevator wouldn't stop. We would literally have to push and hold a floor number to even be able to get off. One night an elevator got stuck all together. Friday evening as we were leaving to go out for dinner, we couldn't even get out of your hotel lobby because many people were waiting to check in to their room. It was 6 pm at this point, people had been waiting for hours for their 4 pm check in. I waited in the bar for a few of my group members and yet again experienced nothing but rudeness. I continued my stay for the weekend at a different hotel. The experience there puts your place to shame. $20 cheaper for a room without a discounted group price, extremely friendly staff and CLEAN. It is really sad that we had to have this experience since we would have probably been back next year if it would have been different. Thanks but no thanks.

We decided to stay at this hotel, because of the close proximity to the Atlanta Braves Baseball Stadium. When we booked the room it said it came with two breakfast passes, which we didn't receive at check in, so when it came time to eat breakfast, we went into the dining area and grabbed a plate no one told us we needed breakfast vouchers or that this breakfast buffet cost $16 per person. We went back to the front desk, but we're told since we were already checked out we couldn't receive the vouchers. The buffet was fine for a free meal, but was definitely not worth $16. The lobby area is very nice including a nice bar, but the rooms and hallways could use some updating. We were with a group that received a military discount on all of there rooms, but when we tried we were told there wasn't one. Finally we were also charged $18 for parking. Overall the only good thing was the short walk to the stadium otherwise it is over priced and run down.

We used the Capitol Park for a small conference in June 2014. While most of the staff was pleasant to work with, they failed completely at managing our event. Although we had three conversations with our sales manager about our schedule, the kitchen had the wrong times planned for all of our meals. As the conference manager, I spent more time worrying about this and trying to track down hotel staff to ask questions or correct problems than actually managing my own staff. Capitol Park staff were all responsive and helpful when we told them something was wrong, which was great, but the overall experience was pretty miserable.
