Location. The 900 acre Grand Traverse Resort and Spa stands along the shores of Lake Michigan's East Grand Traverse Bay in Acme, Michigan. This property is six miles northeast of Traverse City.
Hotel Features. The resort's 16th floor Aerie Restaurant & Lounge focuses on regional American favorites and locally produced wines, artisan breads and cheeses. Aerie Lounge hosts entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. Sweetwater American Bistro serves regionally influenced American fare. The Grille is open during golf season and serves club style sandwiches and salads. The Marketplace offers deli dishes. The Spa Grand Traverse features a pedicure suite, 22 massage rooms and a spa dining room. The health club houses an indoor water playground with a waterslide and a zero depth spray area. Health club amenities include an indoor lap pool, an indoor recreation pool, indoor and outdoor spa tubs, five indoor and four outdoor tennis courts, an aerobics studio, a cardiovascular theater and a weight room. Three signature golf courses were designed by Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and William Newcomb. Watercraft rentals are available at the resort's private beach. The Cub House hosts supervised activities for children up to eight years old. Camp Traverse offers day camp experiences for children ages six to 12.
Guestrooms. The resort offers 579 guestrooms housed in a six story hotel section and a 17 story, glass clad tower. Accommodations are decorated in warm earth tones. Sitting areas feature upholstered chairs paired with ottomans. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee. Rooms in the hotel section feature bathroom television speakers. Tower rooms include wet bars, jetted tubs, refrigerators and bathroom telephones.
