Built in 1893, the Hotel Le Royal is a grand hotel centrally sited alongside a bronze statue of Louis XIV on the expansive Place Bellacour, one kilometre from Lyon's historic centre. Taxis are available from the airport; a typical taxi fare to the hotel is approximately 40 EUR. Shuttle buses run from the airport to Perrache train station, which is two kilometres from the hotel. From here, the subway runs to Bellecour metro station. Lyon is served by a bus, tram and metro network along with an automatic bike hire system that enables visitors to pick up and drop off bikes from various points throughout the city.
Driving directions: From the airport, take the A43/E711 towards Lyon. Continue to Lyon Centre Presqu'ile, and then to Place Bellecour
