My wife and I recently stayed for 6 nights in a studio apartment which came with 1 double and 1 single bed (neither being particularly comfortable), a kitchenette with fridge and a reasonable bathroom. Although reasonably clean, the décor was a bit drab and it could do with a refurb. Sound insulation was particularly poor, so if you value your sleep, think about it very carefully. I also see little point in having no smoking in rooms when 1 foot outside your door there is a smoking table (which was occupied almost constantly by our neighbours) resulting in smoke pouring in through the poorly fitting windows/door into our room. Not pleasant. The pool was nice, but small and with only space for 4 (yes 4) sun loungers around it! Overall, it is better to think of the hotel as simply a base to explore Cairns (actually, not Cairns but the surrounding area and the reef as Cairns itself is rather disappointing) rather than a place to savour per se. The location is fairly quiet generally, but is a longish walk from town and most of the restaurants. However, one of the hotel's best features is the adjoining Balinese restaurant. It is excellent - we ate there on more than one occasion. Although when we booked we were told that Wi-Fi is payable, we were offered 5 free hours when we checked in which was most welcome. « less

We had like a 1 bedroom room and 2 twin beds which was more than enough! The small fridge in the room is a plus for the beverages. They have a wonderful balinese restaurant in the hotel and the food was excellent. The continental breakfast was also very good..I like the ham, cheese and tomatoes. Cairns is beautiful..Take the REEF MAGIC OUTER REEF TOUR--they have a pontoon located in the outer reef with activities included like glass bottom boat, semi-sub and lunch, too. Scuba and helmet diving is extra. We also went to Fitzroy island which was AMAZING!!! you can purchase ferry tickets in advance and do want you want in the island. The Cairns tropical zoo is a must if you want to feed the kangaroos and picture with a koala!! The esplanade is walking distance where restaurants and shops located. Overall--excellent trip and will go back again! « less

Attentive and helpful staff. We arrived early and they let us leave our bags and advised us to visit the city center first. They also assisted us in looking for a cellphone charger to use, and in scheduling the shuttle going to the airport.
The rooms were ok -- there was a kitchen, ref, microwave and other utensils. I think we stayed in a 1-bedroom and the room was large with sala/living area, dining area, kitchen area, toilet and the bedroom.
There was a 5-hour internet provided. The restroom was spacious, and handsoaps/shampoo/conditioner/body wash/shaving cream/lotions were provided in large pump refillable containers. It would be great if there would be areas where clothes could be hung though, considering that it is a beach/resort town. But we made do with the hangers provided. The pool was nice, and the restaurant also had good service.
The location was a bit of a walk to the Esplanade and Reef Terminal, probably 15-30 minute walk (we had a kid so we walked slowly). The shortest route would be through the boardwalk. Based on reviews I thought the location would be closer though, but it wasn't that far away.

A group of us had 2 nights here over the weekend and must say we had quite an enjoyable time. Between us, we had 3, two bedroom apartments, and one studio room. The 2 bdrm apartments were across the road from the main buildings, but I think that made for a quieter, more private stay. The rooms were quite spacious, and nicely furnished. I think what I liked most about the apartments was that there were 2 full bathrooms, which came in handy, especially for my sister's family of 4 kids. The studio room was quite adequate, however when my mother went to heat some food up in the microwave, she found that there weren't any microwaveable dishes in the room, which was a bit of a pain.
We ate a the restaurant one night, and it was fantastic! Couldn't fault the food or service. We had breakfast brought to our room on the last morning and was promptly delivered at the requested time.
The location was great, close enough to walk to the Esplanade, where there's lots of restaurants and the Lagoon, which we visited with the kids twice.
I wouldn't say that this place is excellent value for money but its good, clean accommodation, in a great location, and we would stay here again. « less
