This is the worst motel I have ever stayed at in the US!
To start with, my reservation was non-refundable. Now I understand why they have non-refundable reservations. Unfortunately, my wife, daughter and I had to stay that night or pay for not staying there.
When I checked in, the desk clerk (Angela I believe) reviewed my reservation and clarified that it was for a non-smoking room. She assigned me room 140. When we opened the door we noticed that someone had indeed smoked in the room. I went back to the desk and requested another room. She said that she only had one room left (this was hard to believe because in the morning the parking was not close to being full) on the second floor. I took it because at that point she left me no options. My daughter is handicapped and we always prefer a ground floor room.
We went to the room and couldn't turn on the lights. Eventually I discovered that someone unplugged the lights. I plugged them in and that problem was solved. The litany of other problems were as follows: The light over the vanity was so dim that it was impossible to shave, the beds squeaked when you turned over, we got two wake up calls between 2:00 and 2:15 AM, the desk chair had white flakes on the seat, the carpet had been burned, the tub drained very, very slow, the AC knob for the fan settings had no markings to indicate what the settings were, the towel rack over the sink fell off the wall and last but not least, the rubber bath mat was wet and laying between the toilet and the tub (obviously from previous use.
This motel is in dyer need of a total renovation and some staff upgrades.
I will say that I had one good experience at the motel. The front desk clerk, in the morning, was very helpful and sympathetic. I guess that there is always some good in a bad situation. « less
