Terrible place to stay. No clock, Every light that was supposed to have two bulbs, they had taken one of them out. No Kleenex. No Shampoo. Air conditioner / heater, was so noisey that you had to turn TV all the way up to hear it over the noisey unit. We ask the attendant about it and was told, " There is nothing I can do about it" We will never stay there again. Scottsburg is only 20 mile away. If you want a decent motel. « less

I had business in the area and stayed for a weekend. The Salem Motel is an old style motel that appears to have been updated. My room was very clean and had a micro/fridge. The shower/bathroom was very clean and had good pressure. I was unable to get the WI-FI to work but it's not that big of a deal. The full size bed was not very comfortable and was outfitted only with sheets and a bedspread(NO BLANKET).This was a problem as it was February,when I asked the friendly girl at the office about it I was told they had no blankets as all were in us by other guests.NOT ACCEPTABLE! Other than the UNCOMFORTABLE bed with NO BLANKETS! The Salem Motel would have been a great place to stay for $50 a night. « less

The people who run it are run, and the rooms are not worth what they charge. It's the slums. You'd be better staying in Scottsburg or in another neighboring town.
