The Inch Hotel, Fort Augustus is a beautiful country house hotel and hunting lodge on the banks of Loch Ness with tons of traditional character and a Scottish welcome so warm and friendly that you'll never want to leave. All our well-equipped, comfortable, rooms come complete with WiFi, telephones, hair-dryers, tea and coffee making facilities and flat-screen TVs with Free View. All rooms are en-suite and many rooms also enjoy stunning views over Loch Ness, including our romantic bridal suite which comes complete with a beautiful 4 poster bed. We are a family friendly hotel and have two suites with connecting rooms at the Inch that are ideal for families. Children under 5 also eat for free in the restaurant. Dining is a real pleasure at the Inch. Our AA award-winning restaurant, The Yard, serves a superb Scottish menu using locally sourced produce that is prepared fresh every day, whilst the relaxing bar and lounge has an open log fire and over 60 malt whiskies to choose from. Whether you're looking for a relaxing holiday or something more adventurous, the Inch provides the perfect base to explore the beautiful Great Glen and Loch Ness area. Scenic Urquhart Castle is just 20 minutes away by car, whilst Fort Augustus village centre is walking distance from the hotel and is the base for a number of Loch Ness cruises and trips along the Caledonian Canal. For the more active amongst our guests, we have a number of stunning walks that start right outside our front door, and our friendly and knowledgeable staff are happy to advise on the wealth of local activities in the area. In fact we even have our very own outdoor activity company onsite - Ness Highand Activities, that provide everything from clay pigeon shooting to bespoke tours of the Isle of Skye. We can also advise on the wealth of walking, climbing, rafting, horse-riding and golfing opportunities in the area, as well as cruises on Loch Ness. If your interested in cycling or boating, you'll be delighted to know that we also have mountain bike and boat hire available directly from the hotel and have our own mooring rights on the Loch. For guests wishing to do a real Grand Tour of the Highlands and Islands, you'll find that the Inch makes the perfect holiday destination. We're only a 45 minute drive from both Inverness, the capital of the Highlands on the East Coast and also Fort William on the West Coast which is regarded as the Outdoor Capital of Britain. Further afield Kyle of Lochalsh and the Isle of Skye can be reached within a few short hours, as can the Cairngorms National Park. Private minibus tours of many of these areas can be arranged for guests by the hotel.
