My partner and I stayed here for three nights in May 2013. We only waited in line for 5mins or so to check in but when we got the counter, we were greeted by a girl who looked and acted like she'd rather be anywhere else. She was definitely not friendly and simply gave us our room keys and sent us on our way - no mention of the resort fee, what our room included etc. We stayed on the 23rd floor overlooking the pool which was pretty cool considering there is a lot of construction going on. We decided to go for a wander around the pool area and Flamingo Habitat. Just a word of warning - it STINKS around the area of the wildlife habitat. It definitely detracted from the retro glamour vibe I think they were trying to go for. The pool area was reasonably cool but it was really difficult to find a sunbed in either of the two pool areas. We opted to hang out at the smaller, more laid back pool as the bigger pool was swamped with drunk people and there really wasn't any room to lay your towel down at all. We read in the hotel booklet that wifi was $13.99 a day for a single device in your room. By the second day of our three day stay, we decided to just bite the bullet and pay the money as we really needed to look up some hotels for later on. When we called down to Customer Service, we were told that wifi was included in the Resort Fee and that we also had access to the gym as well. We were pretty annoyed with that as it would've been nice to have been told that a day ago when we'd checked in. Later that afternoon, we went downstairs to the concierge to ask about good places to go shopping. The concierge was really unhelpful. He gave us the absolute bare minimum of information. "Shops are across the road." "What kind of shops are they?" "High end shops." "Are there any other shops around this area?" "15 minutes down the road." When we asked about where we could find a laundromat to wash our clothes, his only response was "Two blocks from here." Given that we weren't locals, it would've been nice to have some more detail and information given to us. We also had a toilet brush sitting outside our room on the carpet in the hotel for more than a day as well as a room service trolley. The Flamingo is in a great location and the room was cheap but the crappy customer service, the stinky flamingo habitat, the cramped pool areas and the real lack of any decent places to eat in the hotel really left us feeling underwhelmed. « less

This is the first time I have ever had to write an not-so-great review of a place I have stayed. Overall, the Flamingo wasn't bad.....the location was great and the staff were friendly. But there were so many things that could be improved on. I will say, the pool area was fabulous, but very crowded. The gardens were beautiful. The view was great. We looked right at Caesar's Palace. This was after changing rooms. I paid for a strip view and when given my first room I was told I had a view of the Bellagio fountains. I was excited. She failed to add that we also had a view of a big construction zone in front of the view of the Bellagio fountain! It didnt take more than 15 minutes to switch that room. The hotel had this big screen thing on the outside of the hotel featuring Donnie and Marie. This obstructed the view of the outside as it looked like we were looking through mesh, It was hard to take pictures. The hotel rooms were fairly clean, but very neglected. Our toilet paper holder fell off the wall EVERY DAY. The sliding bathroom door almost slid right off it's hinges. The carpet in the halls were very stained and dirty. The lobby was disappointing as well. There were no sitting areas. You either had to sit in the casino, or in a restaurant. If you are looking for just a place to sleep, try this hotel. If you want more than just a place to sleep, choose another hotel. « less

This was my 7th trip to Las Vegas. The Flamingo is reasonably priced but don't be fooled as things such as bottled water are just as expensive as the higher end hotels. Rooms large but not the best I have stayed in. Hotel facilities are good. Plenty of shops, restaurants etc and a large casino. The pool area is good but not if you want to just relax in quiet. They have loud music playing constantly which I enjoyed but not for everyone. Read reviews complaining about the long queues to check in and out which is true. However there are self service kiosks which are very easy to use and allow you to select things such as smoking or non smoking room. With these on hand there is no point in queueing. « less
