This Sheraton is a nice looking property but has some issues. Upon our arrival, I had to drive all over the spacious lot looking for a place to park!! Unbelieveably customers were double parked along the access road. Checked behind the hotel and many of the spaces were dedicated to businesses inside the Sheraton. I couldn't help wondering if they wanted to be a mall or a hotel. The noise factor is also a negative; maybe they would consider scheduling work while their customers are NOT sleeping. Postives: good price for a nice-looking room with a view, good sports bar for a beer in the evening and the room service breakfasts were an incredible bang for the buck. We visit the Pittsburgh area periodically and may consider staying at this Sheraton again, but they have problems to fix to make the customer experience less of a hassle. « less

Dear DB-Orange, Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your recent stay at Four Points. We're sorry that you had a hard time finding a parking spot. Our hotel hosts the 2nd largest meeting space in the Pittsburgh area and during large conferences, sometimes, parking spaces can be a bit tight. In the future, just let us know and we can assist you in getting a spot. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your stay in our guests rooms and took advantage of the perks of Legends Sports Bar and room service. Thanks again for letting us know about your stay. We look forward to hosting you again on your next visit to Pittsburgh. See you soon!

Held a professional conference in October 2012. Facility staff is helpful, but you get the impression that their hands are tied when it comes to certain requests.
The rooms were so old, the facility was dated and the decor was just something from a few decades ago. No one to help with bags upon check-in and checkout. Front desk staff just seems to be doing the minimum or less to get by. Sales and catering staff met the needs we had and were creative when we experienced unexpected problems.
Everything is pretty close within the facility but the facility needs major cosmetic updates and room service kicked up a notch or two.
As far as the utility of the facility, it works for a group of 200, but seems to leave something lacking in the overall experience. « less

Dear littlecrock, Thank you for your feedback. We're happy to hear that for the most part, our staff was helpful to you and your group when you were on-site back in October. Our property is currently undergoing guest room renovations and we hope to have them completed by mid-May. Later this year, we will look to update our public space and meeting rooms. We would love to host you and your group again at the hotel once we have gone through our updates!

It was 1145pm when my family and I arrived at the Sheraton, looking forward to a nice night's sleep at what we thought was a nice hotel. Upon arrival, we noticed the renovations being done to the lobby and halls and all the dust that had accumulated on the coffee table. We waited until we could check in, and who claimed she was the manager on duty was ignorant, uncaring, uncompassionate and overexposed (she needed to pull up her shirt). Apparently, someone had changed our reservation so we could not get a room that night- it was the hotel policy that we can't "take" someone esle's room. So this manager claims they are occupied for the night, when another patron comes down and complains that her room was dirty- and that she wanted a new one. Almost immediately, the other hotel worker gave her a new room and went upstairs to clean the room she left behind. We bickered with the manager for a good hour until she "half-comfortably" allowed us to stay in THAT room for the night. So, we sulked into the elevator but were happy to get some sleep. As the renovations were going on, the walls were unpainted, and a large penciled penis greeted us as we entered the elevator. Charming. There was an indescribable odor in the elevator- and just as we tried to identify it, we got to the third floor. The baseboards were nasty, there was leftout food in the hallway, and our room.... oh, our room.. There was no trash bin, no soap, only brackets on the wall without a photo, a tissue box was stuffed with dirty tissues, the tub was brown and dirty, and the sink had toothpaste residue all over it. Nevermind the dust everywhere you touched. The bedspreads didn't match, weren't tucked in, and the air conditioner would turn on loudly periodically, keeping us awake all night. So the next morning, we were greeted at the continental breakfast by a total dude who said "how you doin" and we felt immediately threatened... They had eggs, bacon, french toast, no drinks, milk or coffee out... just gross. The construction went on during breakfast, where men came and undrilled baseboards, so we went back upstairs. We finally booked at the Embassy Suites, and the manager was practically begging us to stay. Meanwhile, I drew in the dust on the table and wrote "ew." The only good part of this hotel was the shuttle drivers- the hotel was far away, on a random street, and messed up our reservations- and didn't even try to help us. They were going to throw us out into the street- and apparently they didn't even have a map to Pittsburgh. Never come here. « less

They are currently remodeling some of the rooms to my knowledge. We actually had 2 rooms for our visit. Our rooms had the dated carpet, but it was clean and didn't pose a problem for me. Our rooms overlooked the pool area. Rooms 218 & 220 were what we stayed in.
The staff were helpful and kind. The only real issue I had was the "drill sergeant" lifeguard. I think he took his job way too seriously. He wasn't friendly and we felt like after the first time he got after a couple kids he constantly eye'd them all. Yes, children ages 5 to 12 will "run" around a pool when they first get there. It's exciting. I would have termed it more of a fast walk. I understand the importance of safety, however, he took it too far.
Other than the pool issue I would recommend staying here. It's not as outdated as you would think. It's still a clean and safe place to stay. « less

On our way back to Michigan from Williamsburg Va, we decided to stop at Pittsburgh as we did on the trip down. We chose the Four Points Sheraton in North Pittsburgh because the Embassy Suites we stayed at on the trip down was sold out. Let's just say the Four Points was a disappointment. I can deal with the fact that it needed some renovations, or looked a little shabby as I don't expect 5 star service for $135 per night. However, what I do expect is excellent customer service. We did not want to eat at the hotel restaurant, so we ordered food for pick up. While there were at least 6-8 large banquet tables empty in the massive lobby in a small reception area, plus a restaurant with tables galore that was mostly empty, we were chided for ordering out. When we asked where we could eat, we were told in the restaurant after we told them we ordered take out. When we stressed we had food with us, we were told our room. This is unacceptable. We were also then nitpicked because we only had socks on our feet and not shoes. The hotel has a nice pool and fortunately, we were able to take our food in there and eat family style at a table with chairs. Only after the 2 lifeguards allowed us despite us being told we couldn't do that by the ladies at the front desk. Those two men went the extra mile and their care was appreciated. Other bads; "Free" wifi Internet that basically was so slow it didn't work--I couldn't open basic websites without them timing out. Newly "renovated" rooms. They were done ok mostly. However, why would you do a multi-million dollar renovation and keep the same shabby bathtub and shabby front and bathroom doors with grease marks on them? The cooling system was low performing, thankfully it was only in the mid-70's in the room even though we wanted it to be at 68. The good? Open lobby area is nice. Location is nice, easy on and off of highway. Price was decent, however now I know why. The pool is nice and the kids liked that. All in all I cannot recommend this hotels without some serious customer service training. Ideally, if a customer needs something, find a way to accommodate them other than by saying "no." « less
