We were forced to travel to Houston because of illness in the family. Admittedly hotel rooms were scarce because of a convention that was winding up. As a result we were billed $50 more for the room than the posted charge. We were put in a smoking room which was not our preference. It is ironic that we had to sign a statement that we would pay $150 to clean the room if we smoked. The keycards needed to be reset the afternoon we checked in. The room looked at a wall only. The breakfast lacked fruit except for bananas and oranges. We were not made to feel welcome. We will not be staying there again. Having a Best Western preferred card makes no difference. « less

We picked the hotel based on location and price. It was between two relatives. We needed to check in a little early and that wasn't a problem. The room was mostly updated. The carpeting looked old, but it passed the white sock test. The shower enclosure looked new. The entire room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good and included eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt and the usual carbs. I would stay here again with no problem. « less

The hotel is okay. We chose it for the value and location. However, we had such a bad experience checking in that we won't go back there again. We used membership points to pay for the room on-line and received a confirmation that the room was paid. However, the clerk insisted that we show them a voucher (which we didn't have and hadn't been given). Then she wanted proof that we had enough points to use to pay for the room (despite seeing written confirmation that the room had been paid for with points). We eventually talked to the manager on the phone, and she said that she had to verify on-line that we had enough points to pay for the room, which would take several minutes. By the way, right before all this, the clerk cheerfully handed us a bag with "gifts" to thank us for being members. The "gifts" were one small bottle of water and one package of cheese crackers, even though there were two of us! « less
