We were in Atlanta for work at America's Mart and actually thought we'd booked the Holiday Inn in walking distance, which it is not. But there was a free shuttle to town which made up for the lack of charm in the room, the view of the drained messy pool getting refurbished hopefully, the renovations going on, and the totally lacklustre food in the dining room and bar.
The service, however was super friendly. Especially Gwendolyn at the front desk and all of our shuttle bus drivers.
I would say that for a Braves game, the perfect option. For a downtown dining and shopping experience it's okay due to the shuttle option, but next time I'll try another hotel closer to the downtown core and more dining options. « less

Even though you initially chose the wrong hotel we are delighted to hear that our staff here took excellent care of you during your stay. As you mentioned - we do have several exciting projects underway at the hotel. During your stay our roof top pool was in the process of being repaired and upgraded for the upcoming Spring and Summer season when it is used most. This was our 1st time traveling to Atlanta to catch a Braves game and this hotel really met our expectations: close to Turner Field, clean, and staff was courteous. If you're in town for a Braves game, and don't mind the -very short- walk, don't pay for parking in the Braves parking lot (about $10) because if you're staying overnight, parking at the hotel was $18..Didn't realize that when I booked and I had already paid for the Braves parking in advance. There is no continental breakfast, but a buffet breakfast was available ($13/person) which was fine. We were on the 3rd floor with a good view of the pool -too bad it rained ALL day Sat. We plan to go back in mid August and will definitely be staying here!! « less

Sharon Johnston is the BEST Sales Manager at the Holiday Inn Capitol Conference Center. She makes planning an event so SIMPLE! She creates packages to meet your needs and is with you from the beginning to the very end of your event. This hotel is convenient to downtown Atlanta and is veryreasonable and very safe! In addition, the Food is EXCELLENT!!!! I recommend this hidden treasure to all for your events and or travel needs! Call her today! I guarantee she can beat ANY deal in the city and I guarantee you'll go back again and again!!! « less

If you are from out of town and trying to catch a couple Braves Games then try and get a room here as it takes about 5 minutes to walk down to the stadium. HOWEVER, that is about the best feature. The nearest restaurant is no closer than 1/2 mile and it's quite a bit further to get to the 'downtown' area. There is a bar in the lobby that has a limited menu, after talking with the bartender the actual restaurant is closed and all food is served out of the bar area. Parking was $18 unless you were a Holiday Inn Hotel member, then it was $12. This saved when the ballpark parking was anywhere between $15-$20. « less

The hallways are mangy, but who cares. - Free WIFI with decent speed. - Free shuttle within a ~2,3 mile radius that departs every 30 min. - Folks working the lobby are friendly and helpful.
The location feels safe, but there aren't any restaurants or bars nearby. Use the free shuttle. « less
