Have never stayed in such a filthy place. This hotel is in need of a major renovation!
There are so many things wrong with this hotel that point form seems to be the only way to list. Leaky stained ceiling throughout Moldy wallpaper peeling off the walls Carpets are full of stains and filthy Toilets not working Power outages, just certain sections of the hotel. Rooms rarely cleaned, beds never made Clean towels, forget it unless you call the front desk Bugs, killed a lot daily Recycled food....yup, this was almost the worst. Almost!!
Pulled out the fold out couch and a used condom wrapper is laying in the bed.
This place is a dump no other way to describe it! There a quite a few poor reviews and those folks are right. « less

I'm not even sure where to begin. My young daughter and I came to the Eisenhower to watch a dog show, and were given a room on the first floor of "Eisenhower I," the older section of the hotel. After some initial confusion at the front desk as to whether our reserved room truly was (or was not) occupied, we were given our room keys. (Turns out that the room, was, indeed, "occupied" ... but not by humans. Read on.) The room was large, with a king bed (that proved to be quite comfortable) and a pull-out sofa bed, but it had a dated feel about it and there wasn't much in the way of amenities; an old coffeemaker, and that was it. The door frame was scraped up, and though there were no offensive smells and the sheets were clean, the blanket had a hole in it, and there was a long stray hair on the bathroom floor. We got settled in, and my daughter wanted to use the pool. We went down to the pool area, which could have been really nice, as it had a "tropical islands" decor about it and was bright and airy. My daughter got into the pool and found it to be cold, and not terribly clean (it was rather foggy), but those complaints were nothing compared to her alarm and horror when she found a large, black, squished bug about a foot from the edge of the pool. I didn't think much of it, at the time. Turns out it was a warning of more to come. She felt dirty after being in the pool, and we returned to our room so that she could shower. After she showered, she went to use the hotel hair dryer and came running to me in disgust with a bug that had fallen out of the hair dryer. The bug turned out to be a cockroach. We took a picture or two of the roach and later showed it to the front desk manager, who seemed unconcerned or even a bit hostile, and offered to send housekeeping to check out our room, or, let us find another. At this point, I was thinking that "the devil you know is better than the one you don't" and figured we'd best stay where we were. Meanwhile, some of my friends in another room reported that they found a centipede in their sink, and more friends on the floor immediately above us had a toilet that only flushed when it felt like it. Our large group had a banquet that night, also in the hotel. The food was marginal, at best. Shortly after the meal ended and before dessert was served, I was suddenly hit by a stomach "bug" that sent me running back to my room and kept me there for the next fourteen or so hours. I was sick all that night and well into the next morning (when we were due to leave), and found, later, that others there were sick with the same symptoms. I'm not blaming it on the food. I honestly don't know what it was, and only share this because it leads to the one positive about our whole "Eisenhower experience." As I lay bedridden and thinking I was going to die with this bug, my daughter, who was feeling too warm, went to the vent beneath the window to try and turn on the air conditioning. She let out a scream of disgust -- inside the vent was what I can only describe as a "nest." I have no idea what this creature(s) was that was living in our vent, but we both decided it was best not to turn it on for fear of blowing whatever insect it was straight into our breathing space. While I lay sick in bed, my daughter went to the front desk to see if we could stay one more night, as I was in no condition to make the long drive back to New England. The hotel kindly agreed. However, as the day progressed, I began to feel better, and got up and took a shower. The water pressure was good, but the temperature went from comfortable to scalding to chilly to comfortable, probably depending on who, around us, flushed a toilet. By 3pm I was feeling pretty good, and just wanted to get home. I must confess that I fully expected to have to pay for the additional night, but Ryan, the front desk manager, allowed us a very late (3:30pm) checkout and did not charge us for the extra night. Again, I mention this, because the kindness, friendliness, and helpfulness of the staff was the ONLY thing about the Eisenhower that I can recommend. I really hate posting negative reviews, but between the cockroaches, the Things That Were Nesting In Our Vent, the squished bug at the pool, and the centipede in my friend's sink, I can't say that I'd ever stay in this place again. When we got home, we sprayed our suitcase with Raid and left it out in the sun for two days. I'm told that the hotel is under new management, but this "new management" has had the hotel for supposedly four months and our experiences echo so many of the other reviews that have been left on this site over the past year and a half, so it doesn't appear as though much, if anything, has changed for the better. This place has the potential to be really nice, and it's wonderful that they allow dogs (we did not have ours with us), but oh, the bugs ... a photograph of the cockroach that was in the room's hair dryer, and a photograph of our room's vent and the nest, follow. Consider yourself warned. « less

We just got back from a 3 night stay at the Eisenhower. After reading the reviews I was a little apprehensive but after checking in, I was happy to find a clean room although its age is showing. It looks like it was quite a hotel in its day but a major update is needed to keep people coming. We noticed numerous areas where the ceiling had been damaged by water leaks in several different parts of the complex. Hotel staff were friendly and polite. We were there to attend a national dog show and found that the staff were very accommodating considering the amount of dogs in the building. We didn't eat at the onsite restaurant but heard mixed reviews. Overall, although our stay was satisfactory, the owner(s) need to make a significant investment in order to update a dated facility. « less

This Inn is absolutely the most diplorable place I have ever stayed in. Understanding the Inn has such a poor reputation, we made sure to book in the advertized new portion of the hotel (Aspire) when forced to be in the Inn for a four day conference. It was glaringly obvious upon check in Aspire was not or never was new. The hotel is falling apart, wall paper peeling off walls, shower fixtures so old they no longer even remotely work (my shower was a fine mist which coated the bathroom but not the person showering, while a fellow conference attendee had a shower which was a pressure washer. Both fixtures obviously from the 1970s or earlier with no maintentance), walls were dirty, TV did not work, and to top everything off- I got a wake up call every morning at 6:30am I did not order and they did not know how to turn off. Nearly daily throughout the conference the fire alarms went off several times, the food was not only obviously microwaved- it was also moldy (every day we found at least one food item served to us that was covered in mold), and absolutely not fresh in the slightest. I actually reported this establishment to the PA health department. Do not ever stay here! « less
