Property Description

Céad míle fáilte = (A Thousand Welcomes) When we found this home on the street named Killarney, here in Cambridge, Maryland, we knew we had found what we were looking for. A perfect place for a warm and wonderful Bed & Breakfast. The name Killarney comes from a vibrant, lovely town in Ireland I have visited often. ***We are located along the shores of the Choptank River and within easy walking distance to the Public Fishing Pier and the Sailwinds Park. We are a short drive from "Long Wharf", a 300 slip municipal and private yacht club marina. ***We welcome children and pets. Please ask us ahead of time to make arrangements. ***SNAPPERS Restaurant is a wonderful restaurant on the water near the Marina. Snappers offers a 15% discount to Guests of the local B and B's when you present that B&B's business card to your server. They have a wonderful outdoor covered deck and a cute Tiki Bar with sand to put your toes in. Good food and wonderful scenery. ***Come join us for fishing, crabbing, boating, hunting. Bike, Walk, Drive or take to the water at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Enjoy a day of golfing or a day at the spa.***Visit our many historic sites such as the Spocott Windmill Complex, the Birthplace of Harriet Tubman, The story of Annie Oakley, the Brannock Maritime Museum, reflecting Dorchester County's maritime heritage. Learn about the oyster navy, the ship building industry and Dorchester's part in defending the United States by sea. The Richardson Maritime Museum is a waterman's museum dedicated to the craftsmen and culture of the traditional Eastern Shore wooden boat building industry. ***Take a walking tour of Historic High Street Cambridge, along Historic High Street and the surrounding area. Stroll down a brick paved, tree lined street with gracious 18th and 19th century homes on both sides. Christ Church, with its spectacular stained glass windows, its graveyard, and the historic County Courthouse are the beginning of a walk through history that leads to the Choptank River waterfront. The architecture represents different periods and styles, including Federal and Queen Anne. The Dorchester Arts Center is a gallery for local artists, and features changing exhibitions throughout the year. ***Take a bike tour: Blackwater Refuge Loop – 25 mile loop through and around the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, Vienna Blackwater Loop – 41 mile loop begins and ends in the historic small town of Vienna. The Cambridge Loop – 6.3 mile loop that begins and ends in the park at Long Wharf. "Biking Through Dorchester" brochure available at tourism office and the B&B.
