Location. The Grand Paradise Bávaro an Amhsa Marina Resort overlooks the white sand shores of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Plaza Bávaro shops are located less than 12 kilometers from the resort.
Hotel Features. This coastal property offers four dining options that serve Dominican, German, Italian, and Chinese cuisine. A sports bar is open 24 hours a day, while live music performs nightly at the Lobby Bar. The resort offers function space, and two computers are equipped with dial up Internet access. Leisure amenities include two outdoor lagoon style freshwater pools, one used for water sport activities and a calmer pool that contains garden islands. Another outdoor pool is designated for children. Outdoor sports provided under the all inclusive plan include snorkeling, boogie boarding, windsurfing, and scuba diving lessons. Speedboats may be rented and ATV beach excursions may be scheduled through local independent operators. All inclusive land sports include daily guided horseback and bicycle tours, tennis and beach volleyball. A health and beauty spa offers body wraps and scrubs, facials, reflexology and hydrotherapy. The spa contains a sauna, a steam room and a five person spa tub encircled with candles. Supervised activities are offered for children ages 4 12, while adult entertainment includes shows presented at a tiered theater.
Guestrooms. This resort offers 500 guestrooms distributed among six three story buildings without elevators. White walls and ceilings contrast with tile floors, dark rattan furniture and tropical print fabrics. Rooms feature furnished balconies or patios. Accommodations include compact refrigerators and in room safes for a fee.
Expert Tip. In addition to on site shops that offer items such as women's resort wear, jewelry and fine cigars, local artisans set up stalls in the courtyard one evening a week to sell their wares.
