Location. The Excellence Punta Cana resort is an all inclusive, adults only retreat located on a two and one half kilometer stretch of powder white Caribbean beach along the easternmost coast of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. La Basilica stands 30 kilometers from the resort.
Hotel Features. This colonial style resort offers dining options that range from contemporary continental and Mediterranean fare, to pan Asian and Caribbean seafood dishes. Function space accommodates group events. A business center offers fax and photocopy services. Complimentary high speed Internet access is provided throughout the hotel. The primary outdoor pool measures longer than a football field and winds beneath bridges and laps against swim up palapa bars. A private outdoor pool features a refreshing waterfall. The fitness center contains free weights, NordicTrac and Universal equipment, stationary bikes and treadmills. Guestrooms. Excellence Punta Cana offers 452 guest suites with mountain or garden view furnished balconies or patios. Décor features include terra cotta tiled floors, ceiling fans, Mexican pottery, and crisp island white and sea blue color schemes. Enhanced room amenities include satellite television and CD/DVD players. All accommodations provide coffeemakers, stocked minibars and in room safes. Bathrooms contain jetted tubs, separate showers, weight scales, vanity mirrors, bathrobes and slippers. Excellence Club Suites feature private check in and check out, complimentary Internet access, buffets and bar services.
Expert Tip. Resort staff arranges bird watching excursions along the River Nisibon. Staff also reserves moonlit horseback rides along the beach, the first 30 minutes of which are complimentary.
