Location. The Hotel Vatel is located in Nimes, within 5 kilometres of the city centre Nimes and within 500 metres of the Maison Carre, a Roman temple and art exhibition centre. The Garon airport is a 15 kilometre drive from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The Hotel Vatel is set in historic Nimes. The hotel fitness centre provides cardio equipment, a spa tub, and a heated indoor swimming pool, while beauty treatments and massage can also be purchased from the in house spa. Wireless Internet is offered throughout the hotel and two restaurants cater for lunch and dinner.
Hotel Vatel offers two restaurants for its guests to enjoy. Les Palmiers on the sixth floor offers à la carte French cuisine every evening Tuesday to Saturday, and on Sunday lunchtimes. A contemporary designed bar is located next door. A buffet restaurant and terrace, Le Provencal, is open for lunch and dinner every day with weekly grills and seafood buffets.
Meetings, meals and cocktail events can be organised for up to 250 people as well as private celebrations.
Guests can swim and work out on site in the health centre. Other sports including tennis, horse riding and golf can be practised in and around the city.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms in green, pink and blue are decorated in a homely style with carpets and plush drapes. Each is fully air conditioned with satellite television, desk, and personal safe and wireless internet access. Marble bathrooms include complimentary toiletries.
Expert Tip. After seeing all the Roman ruins of central Nimes, check out the old Roman walls on the hill behind Le Jardin. Walk through Mont Cavalier park and up the hill to find this ruined tower. Place de l'Horage in Nimes has a clock tower lit up at night and has a number of small boutiques to explore.

From Nimes Garons Airport (FNI):
Distance to Hotel Vatel is 15 kilometres, approximately 15 minutes' drive.
Getting there. An airport bus departs for the city centre and Nimes bus station, and running times coordinate with flight arrivals. The journey time is about 35 minutes, and tickets cost 5 EUR. Taxis into the city centre cost approximately 24 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Nimes is best explored on foot or by bus. A car is useful for exploring the Languedoc Roussillon region.
Driving directions. Go through the D442 and carry on to the D442A and take a toll ticket.
Take the A54/E80 in the direction of Nimes/Arles and exit at Junction 25.
Enter into Nîmes and go through the Rond point Kilomètre Delta and turn left on the Boulevard du Pasteur Marc Boegner (N106).
Go through the N106 and turn left on the Avenue Kennedy (D40). Cross the square and continue on the Rue Vatel to the hotel.
