I read the previous reviews and was a little nervous about staying here. However, this was the only place I could find that was reasonably priced and close to Miller Park. Next time I will pay triple the cost to stay elsewhere. There was a half naked man in the room next to ours and every time he would hear us come up the stairs he would open his door and ask if we had a lighter. He wouldn't open the door the whole way, he kept the lock on, and to be honest, he freaked the crap out of me. Around midnight there were at least 8 police cars in the parking lot across the street. THIS IS A TOTALLY SKETCHY PLACE! I called the hotel and they assured me it was safe and upgraded me to a "remodeled" room. I'm pretty sure the only thing remodeled about this room was NOTHING. My skin crawls just thinking about the fact that I actually slept there. I seriously considered sleeping in my vehicle, but due to the people hanging out around the hotel and the police across the street, I thought it might actually be safer sleeping in the hotel. Oh, and they ask for your drivers license when you check in and actually tell you, "the police require it" WHAT IS THAT??? « less

I am not a fancy person, and I take pride in the fact that I am cool with staying in hotels that are not what you would call top of the line. I had actually stayed at this hotel 10 years ago and it wasn't that bad. Well the years have not been kind to this property. The first thing that hit me was the smell. It was a non-smoking room that smelled like a mixture of smoke, incense, and mildew. It smelled so bad I instantly got a headache. I knew complaining would be pointless because most likely the entire place smelled like this. I would have opened the window but the window open out on to the hallway and I didn't feel like getting murdered. The security doors didn't lock so people were free to come and go. Near my first floor room there was a flight of stairs going down to the basement. There was a collection of junk and boxes scattered about. It was so weird. I needed to print something off on the Internet so I called down to the front desk and they told me to come on down and use the computer. When I got down there there was a guy sitting using the computer and the front desk lady told me that I could kick him off because he had been on there all day. I asked the guy if I could use it quickly and he said, "yeah, just a minute." While I was on the computer the guy sat there waiting with his Grandson and it dawned on me that they lived at this hotel. Ugh..... I felt like a complete a-hole. « less
