The airconditioning in the lobby broke down and the air would not flow because they only opened 1 door....there was no effort from the front desk or the security to open windows or other doors although some of us asked they do something...the answer was easy 'they eventually will come and fix it"! « less

When I stay in a low budget Hotel I expect at least a clean room and towels, well this was not the case. The room was clean, but not enough towels. When I call the reception, the lady told me there were not towels available for the next two hours. I just couldn't believe what I was told, so I came down to the reception, and after a brief discusion, I came back to my room with two additional towels. « less

If you're in Cancun and not interested in the beach, a property like this is good. It is much less expensive and you can still take a taxi to a beach. It is across from a huge shopping mall, but there are few good restaurants near by. The property itself was reasonable and clean for the most part. I had a major shower drain back up, which was eventually fixed about 8 hours after I reported it. The room AC is very loud and not very efficient. There was more storage space here than the hotel across the street where I stayed last week. That was nice. I had a single with a large bed and 2 chairs. No dryer, but they gave soap, water and shampoo - also kleenex. The free breakfast was minimalistic (breads, fruit, yoghurt, lunch meat, juice, coffee) - but included. Friends complained of internet problems, but I was able to get on most of the time. Little to no English is spoken, which could be a problem for some. There are no safe deposit boxes except at the front desk and none for a laptop. There is a minimalistic gym (bike and tredmill) and the pool was cloudy and didn't look inviting despite the heat. The lobby AC seems to never be on, so waiting there is uncomfortable. No fans either - no air movement. All that being said the staff is friendly and the price is right. By the way the bed and pillows were comfortable. « less

Well where do I start, my family and I live in the Yucatan and travel to Cancun to see friends and family when the come to town. We had stayed at City Express when it first opened and thought it was ok, now a few years later we decided to stay again and it was not even 3 star. The beds are like a rock the pillows are like someone filled them with Cement and the internet was crap at best. That night we slept ok, in the morning we went down for continental breakfast which was good. The staff I have to say was very nice and wanting to help anyway they can. I would stay again but recommend that they either get new pillows and beds or take your own pillows. « less

The breakfast is included but they could change the quality and the amount of the food (corn flakes, coffe, bread and some fruits). The air condition in the room was terrible. It turned off every 10 minutes and it didnt start again. They tried to fix it and it was impossible. We asked to change our room the second night The mattress and the pillows were very bad. « less
