My husband and I were visiting a family member at the local VA, and we were on a budget. We figured the Days Inn would be a perfect fit for our two night stay. Upon inspection of the room, the framework around the sink fell off at a simple touch. The plug for the bathtub did not work, and we had to fight with the toilet to get it to flush. I could tolerate these inconveniences due to the nature of our visit, but when our room was NOT cleaned the following day, it was a little too much. Our "Please Do Not Disturb" sigh was not outside of the door, and the maids saw us leaving our room because they were cleaning the room next to ours. There was absolutely no excuse as to why our room was skipped over. I had to personally speak with the front desk clerk later that evening, and she had to fetch us clean towels, find us more toilet paper, and empty our garbage cans herself. It makes me question the entire cleanliness of the place. I was even more appalled that were not not given a discount for this outrageous oversight. However, the afternoon/evening desk clerk needs to be recognized for her friendliness. She tried to correct the situation the best she could. « less
