We were disappointed from the hotel because we were expecting a better room having in mind previous reviews,The rooms wasnt clean enough and there was a bad smell from the toilet.The staff should be friendlier except of the cleaning lady who was very polite. The positives were the comfortable beds and the good breakfast(although if you wanted to order a coffee wasnt including). The position was perfect right in the center of the town(too much noice but we didnt bother) « less

I'd like to like this property more but I don't. The public rooms are really quite good but individual rooms are not good enough. The Double Room was described as spacious on the booking engine: THEY ARE NOT SPACIOUS! I felt quite cramped and the tiny ensuite had a disconcerting plumbing dribble of water on the floor so I kept a towel on the floor by the toilet at all times. The hotel's central location may be an advantage for some aspects but I didn't like the traffic noise and shouting thugs in the street overnight. I am not sure what all the claims about pillow types and sleep quality is all about as it was just an ordinary mattress and pillow as far as sleep quality goes. I found breakfast quite tasty and the dining room is nicely decorated. The staff were all accommodating. In the end though we cut our stay short by one night because the room was disappointing and the city is just another loud, busy city when there are more beautiful things to experience in the regional areas. « less

As other reviewers have noted, Le Palace could not be better located. But for me the friendliness and staff are its gratest assets. Breakfast - presided over by a lovely woman called Rita - was also excellent. The hotel was full (with admirable honesty they apologized that I was in the worst room in the hotel as a consequence) and unfortunately this included a school-party from Crete. I have experienced school-parties before and my heart always sinks... but even by the standards of 15 year olds worldwide these were the most uncouth, inconsiderate and unpleasant I have ever met. My wife was a teacher and I have a good set of values on which to make this judgement. They reflect VERY badly on their school and Crete. Nevertheless I will stay at Le Palace again (I have been promised a more comfortable room) - just so long as there are no school-parties imminent. « less

Just a regular hotel with the great advantage being in the heart of the city. You walk out of the hotel and 300 m to your right is Arestotelos square. If you turn left, in 150 m you are in an area of restaurants with all kinds of cuisines-local, seafood, Argentinian, etc. The staff is very helpful, the breakfast is good enough! The corridors are a little bit noisy, especially when high heel ladies walk in the early AM hours, but you can live through it. « less
