We are located in a residential area in the east end of Louisville. We have direct interstate access to I-64. We are within walking distance to several restaurants including Bob Evans, Waffle House, Olive Garden, and McDonald's.
We are an exterior property with 2 floors. We were recently remodeled and now offer business king rooms and 2 bed rooms with a micro-fridge. Our rooms are quiet, clean, and comfortable.
We are close to all Louisville Activities including Churchill Downs, Tom Sawyer Park, Fair and Expo Center, Louisville Airport, and UofL campus.

I know what your thinking, no way, it's a Red Roof! I stay here every time I'm in town on business, seven to eight weeks a year and you can't ask for a better centrally located facility. The rooms are renovated, super comfy beds, big flat screens, fridge, microwave, did I mention King Size Bed? Oh, did I mention for the King suite $41.95 night? How about $349.00 OTD for the week? Oh yea, See Jayme, Call Jayme, Go See Jayme, she works six to seven days a week and she will flat hook you up for accommodations. Rooms look to have been recently renovated and the room was clean. It did have an odor of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. We stayed here for the Jason Aldean concert at the YUM center so this hotel was fine for a one night stay. There was no hairdryer in the room, so bring your own. Also, in a double room, there was only two towels, which I thought was odd. Usually, for a room that holds 4 people, there are 4 towels, but oh well. Got a good deal on the room rate. We weren't here for very long so it was fine. Close to gas stations and restaurants as well. « less

We usually stay at our son's home while visiting him in Louisville, but on this occasion he had other guests at his home. I tried to get a reservation at my usual haunts--Holiday Inn, Drury Inn, etc. but the hotels in this area did not have any vacancies. Finally, after reading the good reviews on Trip Advisor, I decided to give this Red Roof Inn a try.
I cannot remember the last time I stayed at a Red Roof Inn. I expected this inn to be acceptable based on the reviews but was still a little leery especially because the cost compared to other hotels was so much lower.
The only room they had left was one with two double beds, so I settled for that. I am happy to report that the reviews were accurate. The motel was clean and comfortable. The room was small, the bathroom even smaller, but both were perfectly acceptable for an overnight stay for us. I especially liked the smell of the sheets. They were so fresh and clean. The front desk clerks were friendly and efficient.
I was surprised to find that the room did not have a hairdryer. I have not run into that problem in so many years that I never considered bringing one. Our room was located at the very end of the building therefore nearest to the freeway. You could hear the passing traffic, but it never disturbed either of us. Possibly, if you are a light sleeper, it might be a problem.
All in all I would say that if you are looking for a clean, comfortable room, easy access near the freeway and do not want any frills--no coffee in rooms, no hairdryer, no swimming pool, this is a good place to stay. I will definitely stay here again if I need to spend the night at a hotel in this area. I especially like saving the money which I can easily spend on all of the good restaurants around. « less

The reviews I read on Tripadvisor were accurate and helpful. My two night stay started with us getting lost [Mapquest directions weren't the best] but a call to the Red Roof was handled very well and provided us with excellent directions. We arrived around 9:30 p.m. and check in was very efficient. The staff provided us with suggestions for a good pizza place that delivers [the pizza was local and yummy] and the rest of the stay was very relaxing. The room was clean and smelled good. The only thing I missed was an in room hair dryer and coffee maker [coffee provided in the office was free, hot and tasted fine]. Excellent room for a low budget stay!! « less

My job takes me out of town and requires an overnight stay. After staying in multiple locations, I have settled on Red Roof Inn East. Not only is it near MULTIPLE great restaurants, it is a perfect hotel for the "budget minded" person. Clean and newly renovated rooms are comfortable and quiet. The smiling faces at the front desk are definitely great. Especially when I check and Jayme is working. From day one she has treated me like a VIP. She ALWAYS greets me with a smile and gets me to my room quickly. This Red Roof is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the person on a budget. « less
