This was a terrific hotel for a quick, one-night stay. My room had modern, bare-necessities, was comfortable and VERY clean! While the hotel is right off the highway and I ended up in the room closest to the lobby, the noise level was not noticeable. The bathroom was bright, clean, and the water pressure was great. My only small complaint was the bed: while it had 4 pillows to choose from and very comfortable linens, the mattress seemed especially firm to me--bordering on hard, in fact. Despite this, I would certainly stay at this hotel again and would now look at other Fairfield Inns to stay in when traveling. (Extra bonus points for the freshly popped popcorn always available in the lobby!) « less

Of all the Fairfields in the Albany area, the East Greenbush usually has the most competitive price. Although it is on the East side of the Hudson, it is a 10 minute drive from downtown Albany. The rooms are nice, I wish the public personal computer was not near the front entrance but in a more private setting especially when I have to make reservations with my credit card. The breakfast area is one of the better ones, very clean, with fresh eggs and sausage. Newspapers like the Albany times union and USA today are complimentary. The manager usually sends a personal email with his address to listen to any concerns. Overall a nice place for the business traveler. « less

Our son and daughter in law were flying in from Dubai, and so we all decided to get away from Long Island to visit other family members in East Greenbush. Our travelling party was made up of 3 married couples and a two-year-old, driving up in two cars.
Our stay at the Fairfield Inn in East Greenbush was great from the start. I discovered some Marriott Rewards to use toward one of our three King Bed rooms that we reserved, and I realized that we were going to need several special accommodations. We had no trouble booking those three rooms through Marriott's telephone booking system, even though we were requesting that all three rooms be located on the highest floor at the Inn (to minimize noise from above), that they be near each other, that they include a crib and roll-away bed (because we did not know which would suit the two-year old), and that they allow for check-in as late as 8 p.m. To our delight, not only did our Marriott Rewards apply to one of our rooms, but there was a special Senior Citizen discounted rate that we could use for the other two! When we arrived, my husband (who is very particular about lodgings) proclaimed that I had done a great job in finding the Fairfield Inn at East Greenbush! The entire Inn, and particularly the rooms, were attractively appointed, spotlessly clean and up-to-date. Each room was spacious enough for us to congregate en masse to share after-dinner beverages and snacks together! At night, it was perfectly quiet to allow for a good night's sleep for everyone, even Miss Two-Year-Old.
I must add that I had occasion to call upon Chris, the Inn's Manager, several times prior to our stay as well as during our visit, and he could not have been more helpful, knowledgeable, pleasant and thorough. The Staff Members went out of their way to direct us to services within the Inn as well as those in the local community. They were all very friendly and eager to help us. We will certainly recommend the Inn to others and stay there again, ourselves! « less

The good: long entry way eliminates noise from the hall (I was right by the elevator and soda machine and never heard them). Coffee maker is top rate, with easy-to-open coffee packs. Internet speed is excellent. AC works very well, with a constant speed fan to help hide noise. Room is modern and clean. Staff is fantastic.
The bad: shower water pressure is very low, and it takes a long time for the water to get hot; first half of my shower was lukewarm. Highway roar makes it to the room, and can be heard over the constant speed fan. I had specified a room away from the road, but a busload of Asian Nationals limited the available rooms. « less

My wife and I stayed for 1 night (sun-mon) while in town for a wedding. The staff was friendly, courteous, helpfull (desk clerk printed off directions for us to a pub in troy and helped explain the directions). The room was clean, furniture and carpeting newer and clean, continental breakfast appealing and fresh. Overall a great experience. Theres a Denny's and Cracker Barrel within walking distance. Not alot else around, but if you're looking for a quiet place, close to downtown Albany or Troy thats affordable and good value for the $ I would highly recommend this property. « less
