As we were only staying in Toronto for two nights, we did not need anything too fancy. Well, this hotel is not. It is fine for one or two nights, don´t get me wrong, the rooms are clean and we slept fine. The hotel is a bit shabby and feels a bit like a dorm, our room was clean and the bedding, towels, etc. nice and fresh. I've stayed in 3-star hotels that were much less pleasant .The hotel may be a bit of shock if you are used to more upscale/modern hotel experiences. There were some weird smells, (curry) mostly from residents cooking in their rooms. I think there are some long term residents staying at the hotel. Checking in was very weird - a young guy sitting behind a small (cheap) computer desk, keys are small metal keys in the drawer... it is more like an advanced youth hostel with private rooms and bathrooms. Also, this hotel does not offer any meal, not even a packaged pastry for breakfast. There is a Starbucks in walking distance though. Weird is the $50 deposit that you have to pay upon checking in. Kind of emphasizes the youth hostel theory, you know... partying kids, things get broken... but if you can live with all that, go for it. It’s inexpensive for Toronto, it is clean and I guess the location is not too bad very quiet at night, neighbourhood is no worse than any in a large city on the fringes of the tourist/commercial districts. Would stay here again « less

I recommend this hotel to any one who is not picky and looking for low priced accommodations with kitchenettes none-the-less! This saved big time on food costs since Loblaws is about a 10 min. walk, located on Queen St W.
I have nothing bad to stay about this hotel, my stay was great and it is close to great shopping locations such as Queen St W and China town.
It also looked like they were doing renovations as well as replacing beds. « less

We stayed at this hotel during one of our stays in Toronto. We liked the fact that the hotel had a kitchenette so we could prepare some of our food during this trip and not rely on restaurants all of the time. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, the hotel was quiet and the price was affordable. We enjoyed the fact that the hotel is located in Chinatown - so when we did decide to eat out, there were lots of great restaurants nearby. « less
