Koh Yao Yai Village is one the best places I have visited in my life. The atmosphere and energy in the resort is like home. All the personal was very pleasant and friendly. I loved the theme of the resort, gives a feeling of being in the village and away from big rush cities. We stayed in a huge bungalow, I believe #707. The colors or the room were so calming, the view from the deck was straight to sunrise on the sea...!!! It also had 2 showers, one outside, one inside. The outside one gives amazing feeling! Food was also delicious especially with breathtaking view of the sea and infinity pool. Yes, infinity pool is just cherry on top! The spa is extremely relaxing and massages were energy restoring :) I would defiantly go back to Koh Yao Yai Village resort and I would recommend everyone! You will not regret it! « less

The staff are very nice, polite and helpful, especially they are good babysitter and they were well-explained the details for the hotel facilities. Before our trip we read several reviews in which people showed their disappointment with this hotel. We were not disappointed. We did not expect crowded beaches or steamy nigth clubs; what we wanted was tranquility and a reasonable level of luxury in rooms (bungalows) and services. All that we received. The bungalows were marvellous, the food was good and reasonably priced and the staff certainly did their best. We also appreciated the excellent transport services to and from the Phuket airport. The only point of criticism is about the beach: the hotel should tell the customers that during the low tide the beach is not available for swimming. « less

Each room is a standalone bungalow, equipped with an outdoor (but very private and spacious) shower and an adjoining outdoor space with all-you-can-drink water, mosquito-tented futon, and lounge chairs. Each room also comes with a tote bag and beach towels for you to take on daily adventures or to the infinity pool. The resort provided the right amount of privacy and service. The spa was really comfortable and the massages we had were great (thai, foot).
The only negative thing is that there is ZERO nightlife here, and that the "bars" which are supposed to be open until late in the night were closed all the time. Also, the non-Thai food (and evening music entertainment) at the restaurant is terrible. BUT ,the breakfast spread is huge and delicious. « less

This place is truly beautiful and the accommodation is the best we have stayed in for may years and the best we used in Thailand having been to four resorts over 3 weeks (you are paying for it vs the rest of Thailand!). Food was great (not the cheapest), service was first class. The big infinity pool is important as the beach is very shallow and a little muddy in places making the water visibility very poor, not a place for snorkelling. You'll need to rent one of the on-site scooters (300bt for 4 hours) and get yourself over to the other side of the island to the beach on the Elixir Resort which is picture postcard stuff if you want to spend much time in the sea, well worth the 10k ride. The advertised excursions are a little pricey compared with the rest of our holiday experience but the day on our own Longtail boat to the islands (James Bond Island Trip) was great and we were well looked after. This place’s USP is its beauty, its tranquillity and the quality of the accommodation, all first class. If you are looking for a little more action this probably isn't the place, that said Yao Yai is a very quiet non touristy island, we would suggest you need to consider this if you are only good at lying on a sun lounger for a couple of days before you need some excitement! « less
