The beaches along Florida's Emerald Coast are spectacular! Miles and miles of sugar fine almost white sand with the azure water stretching as far as the eye can see, without tall hotels or huge resorts ruining the idyllic horizon. It seem locals (including those from the southern states) know about this jewel of a beach, whereas the northerners head elsewhere. WaterColor is a destination oasis. We've stayed in the inn overlooking the beach and in the vacation rentals, all are very comfy, nicely appointed in relaxing beach hues. Especially like the bikes that are provided at no charge to go exploring along the coast. The town of Seaside is about a 10 minute walk down the beach path. Definitely will return. « less

Only complaint was that the carpet in our room was very stained and needed to be replaced otherwise everything else was very clean. Would definitely return for another stay. « less

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the WaterColor in mid April and we loved it. We did not stay at the inn but one of the "Carriage Homes" which is basically a small apartment above the garage of the beach houses in the neighborhood. You don't get the beachfront view, but you are within walking distance of the beach and you save a lot on price. All carriage homes guests get full access to the WaterColor facilities as well.
The only negative I found with WaterColor is that there aren't a lot of dining options. Fish Out of Water is a very nice restaurant for dinner, but it can be expensive. The poolside grill stops serving at 5 pm, which doesn't make much sense because the sun doesn't go down until around 7 pm and many people hang around and get hungry and want to eat dinner out by the pool. If you want to eat a cheaper, late dinner you will have to go into Seaside or Seagrove which is even further.
The service by everyone at the WaterColor was fantastic. The spa treatments we received were top notch. All the facilities were clean and in good shape. We do not have kids, however, we saw many families there and the place is more than prepared to entertain children. Especially interesting was the Friday night childcare so that the adults can go on a date. « less
