I only stayed one night at this location; the room was clean but the staff acted like they could careless that I was staying at their hotel. I was staying in the Extended Stay, located at 5683 S Redwood Rd, Salt Lake City, UT 84123 (Formerly Homestead Studio Suites) and it was the nastiest place I have ever stayed at, the windows did not lock, there was food all over the carpet and some other nasty looking stuff smeared on the carpet. I had to buy a bath matt because the bath tub/shower was really nasty,the walls were dirty with food smears, parts of the back plash in the kitchen was falling off. trust me you do not want to stay at the Extended Stay on S. Redwood Rd, the place should be closed down. The Extended Stay America - Salt Lake City - West Valley Center was so much nicer than the Extended Stay on Redwood road. « less

Ok first of all this place has an outstanding location. It's right next to the Maverick Center, and there are six good restaurants within a literally five minute walk. This is the only good thing about this hotel. I will start the bad parts off by saying I have stayed in extended stay hotels plenty of times and I am fully aware of the cleaning policies here. I stayed there for 11 days, the longest 11 days of my life. Here is a list of the CONS that come with staying here. 1) Paper thin walls-I heard the guy in the next room coughing literally 2000 times in four days and it was incredibly hard to sleep. I also heard the lady on the other side screaming in an argument on the phone like she was in the room with me. Even my coworker three doors down heard her yelling in his room. 2) Cleanliness-their policy is to clean once per seven days...no problem. I get it. But after 9 days I had to go request that my room be cleaned, only to find out I was never scheduled for any cleaning. When I did actually get my room "cleaned", the floor wasn't even vacuumed, sink not cleaned in bathroom. This is absolutely unacceptable. I'm surprised they even gave me new towels. 3) Late night entry-I had lost my key at some point in the night and I didn't get back to the hotel until after 2am. I called using the phone in the entryway and got ahold of someone, an operator that said someone would be there with me shortly. 15 minutes later some guys came through and let me in so I wasn't freezing. I had to beat on the front counter and yell HELLOOO for 10 minutes before the night attendant came to the desk (and I don't ever yell...ever). She gave me my key, it didn't work and I had to repeat the exact same thing again. Ugh. 4) Lack of professionalism-I came in from work and I looked into the lobby on my way up the stairs...what I saw was three girls sitting on the FRONT counter where a guest would check in. I will post a picture of this. I was blown away yet not even surprised. 5) Laundry- the machines are old and in disrepair. The far left washing machine ate $1 of my quarters, which were refunded, but still a hassle and the far right machine was out of order...and it's $4 to wash and dry your laundry and this is robbery. At the Candlewood it's free and far better facilities. 6) Furnishings- the bed is hard as other reviews suggested, the pillows deflate as soon as you put your head down, and the chair is old and stained. The carpet is nasty and old and the rooms are extremely dated. They did have a nicer TV in the room with a fair selection of channels. 7) Wifi- you get slow wifi unless you want to pay to use the faster wifi...how can you withhold someone something you already have!!! My company is in Salt Lake often and "rest" assured nobody from my company will ever stay there again and I will tell everyone I know of my poor experience, just like I would have if this were a good one. This was worth the 20 mins it took me to write this review. « less

Lots of great places to eat nearby. Desk staff is friendly and helpful. We have been here for a week so far, and will be here for a while longer while my husband works in the area. « less
