If you want to reserve a 3rd floor room at the Super 8 in Escondido, we suggest that you be ready to witness paranormal activity as we did on a weekend stay. We saw a curtain wand move back and forth even after stopping it, shirts on hangers turning by themselves, medication tablet bottle being shaken and opened, lights that flickered from dim to bright in bathroom, a lamp turning on by itself during the daytime, a pencil falling off counter twice, a man's voice and felt his breathing in my neck and ear. Even the bathroom door opened by itself. Too much happened in that 3rd floor room that upon leaving on last day, we asked a housekeeper if anyone had died in that room and she didn't know but said that two people had died on two lower floor rooms. So have your cameras ready for video! « less

This Super 8 is old and dingy. The entry sign says "Newly Renovated" ... where? The carpet was old and looked dirty, there was touch up paint on the walls. The only thing that looked new was the shower curtain. I've stayed at many lower end hotels there were in better shape. In addition, I booked the room through hotels.com ... the dates were wrong ... I checked in a week earlier than the booked dates. It took 3-4 long phone calls to clear up the situation. Very frustrating. « less
