Probably not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in given the promise of four stars and a big brand and the hype of some other reviews. We stayed here only because of a conference in the adjacent centre. The hotel is just plain shabby. It is in desperate need of refurb. The air conditioning control in our room didn't work ( housekeeping had to send a tech in to reset the temp, and it was set at that for the duration). The room card key had to be changed several times daily (I was told the system was fine but that I had placed the card key in a pocket with my phone or money, except that I had not!). Thats a real inconvenience since the lift uses the key also, so multiple times we got on the lift with Others, got on our way only to find we Could not get off at our floor, then had to return to reception to get a key! There's no kettle in the room and when we requested one, were firmly rejected. If you're facing away from the Tower, the view is average, especially through grimy glass. Don't dare put anything in the fridge or even lift an item - it automatically gets charged to your account.
Etc etc etc. The saving grace was a decent breakfast. « less

I stayed here during an event at the palais, for which the hyatt was extremely convenient (although the hotel did change name the day before I arrived - see photo). The hotel has a range of ups and downs - its ups being one of the benefits as most rooms have a view of something in paris (mine was monte marche from the 19th floor (see photo)), and its one of the few buildings in paris that is taller than the city-wide specified building height. There's an expensive bar on the 34th (that I didnt try), and a gym up there too (which is a daily surcharge). Breakfast was a hot/cold mixed buffet (included in the price), which I thought was pretty good. A large range of fruits, yogurts, pastries, bacon, eggs, mushrooms (which were _amazing_ in my opinion), etc. Wifi throughout, which i had 3 devices connected to easily, as well as free wired connection in the room. I got great service through out my stay, to be honest. Electronic safe in the room too (big enough for 15" macbook pro), and an automated minifridge. The main areas of the hotel were bright and sparkly - the lobby was glamorous, etc.
There are elements that are ageing. The building itself is a pretty ugly tall concrete structure, but you dont see that from the inside. Most of the rooms are being, or have been, refurbished. My carpet had a huge stain on it - but its not my carpet, so.
Overall, would stay there again happily, and didnt see (during my stay) a better option for a hotel in that area - based primarily on the view. « less

Stayed there for 2 days on business, and really enjoyed central location - walking distance from most attractions (Eiffel Tower included). A bit dated but clean, confortable and quiet room with amazing view. I was not on the Eiffel tower side, but the view on the other side, at the city and Sacre Coeur was equally great. In the morning, the breakfast restaurant was busy (expected for large hotel) but very functional. Food was excellent, great selection of high quality goos, which was pretty common experience for me all around France. I will stay here on my next trip to Paris (in case Hyatt who is overtaking this hotel doesn't increase the price over the limit) « less

I stayed here on a business trip in April for four nights. It had just transitioned from the Concorde Lafayette to Hyatt ownership and boy was the staff confused. They weren't entirely sure about the process at check in and they had to ask their managers a lot of questions.
The lobby itself is a bit dim and suffers from a lack of natural light. The air vents above the check in counter have that black dirt around them that results from not cleaning your ventilation filters.
Since I was being mindful of cost to my company, I booked a standard/classic room, not the upgraded deluxe. The room was in desperate need of repair and cleaning. There were scuff marks and holes in/on the wall. The carpet was stained. The air conditioning didn't do anything to cool off the room. The windows were caked with dirt and dust. The one upside of the room was that the linens on the bed seemed new, which made a difference.
Expect to wait a while for the elevator and don't be surprised if you get stuck inside one for a short while. I did for about 1-2 minutes when the doors wouldn't open. This property likes to bill itself as one of the biggest in Paris. Not sure if that's a selling point...
Location wise, the hotel is in an ok spot. You're about a 15 minute walk to the Arc and about 20-30 minutes from the Eiffel Tower. The dining options nearby the hotel are very lacking. They're either very expensive or not very good quality. Forget the hotel restaurant. When I sat down and saw that a soda was 8 Euro I walked out.
Overall, Hyatt really needs to dump a ton of money into this property to bring it up to par with its reputation. Stay here if you need to be at the conference center next door or if you get a very good rate. Otherwise, find somewhere else. « less
