5 families made a reservation on the phone a month in advance. For my Moms Memorial Service. We stated that all rooms had to be together. I booked my first reservation for a Wednesday to meet everyone coming in. Then I was returning on a Sunday. When I checked in I'm on the Second floor right near the elevator which I had said no to. Was told we have nothing take it or leave it. My 93 year old Dad on the 3 floor and my sister on the 4th. We all asked to changed and were told we never asked to be together. The Lady front desk person was a nasty. When I checked out the I told the same girl to open my Sunday reservation that I was coming back and I need to be on the 4th Floor. It was like we were bothering her. It was downhill from there. The rooms were dirty, towels had hair in them. 1 pillow on two beds. They only bright side was the Food in the dining room and the Guitar player Steve in the Tap room. Food was excellent and the music was great. This is only half of it. Not charge the rate we were told. Ask if one of us that was still at hotel had checked out.We were told yes. We were standing right there.Need a new employes or new training. Next time I am going to the Courtyard. At least I will get a hello and Thank You. « less

Revisited the Tap Room, the bar at the Somerset Hills Hotel, to see if they had maintained the high quality and unique selection of craft beer I found on my frist visit a while ago. The answer is it's now even better and that's saying something. The craft beer ranged from great German lagers to award winning American IPAs to Belgium treasures. The place is comfortable, well maintained, and the service is very good. The lone negative is that two of the TVs are small and outdated but since this is not a loud sports bar that might be a good thing. I did not stay at the hotel but have friends who did. They all were pleased with their experience « less

The Shomerset Hills Hotel staff was amazing!! We had my daughters First Holy Communion in the Ballroom this past weekend and it was absolutely wonderful! I've been to venues that are more expensive that couldn't compare to the staff, food and attention the Somerset Hills Hotel offers. Erica was our Banquet manager, she made me feel comfortable to call and ask as many questions as I had. She offered me advice and guided me on various things to make our event wonderful. Steve and the staff were excellent, again made us feel comfortable. Our guests complimented their attentiveness to their needs as well as ours during the event. The front desk was also great in greeting and directing the guests to the party! I can't thank the Somerset Hills Hotel enough for making my daughters day so special!! Thank you all. « less

I can't say enough about Erica, Karen and the entire staff at Somerset Hills Hotel. We had 57 rooms booked at this hotel, with the overflow going to their sister hotel, The Indigo, in Basking Ridge. Our guests ranged from 10 months to 93 and all were accommodated for any special needs or requests, including pets. We chose Somerset Hills Hotel due to the proximity of our ceremony and reception venues. Also, the benefit of the Tap Room for dining and after parties was a consideration. The general location of stores nearby was perfect, as well. A complimentary shuttle service was provided from both hotels, once we met the minimum booking, to and from the reception. This allowed guests to enjoy themselves to the fullest. Due to the fact that we had the largest booking of the weekend, we also were offered a private dining room for breakfast on Sunday morning. It allowed our guests to visit one last time to say share stories and say goodbye. It was the end to a perfect weekend. All this, breakfast included for a very reasonable price, in fact the most competitive price in the area. I started the year before with the lodging plans, knowing that I wanted to have as many family and guests in one location as possible. Erica guided me through every step of the way, providing valuable tips that I never would have thought of. Our guests raved about everything. I highly recommend the Somerset Hills Hotel for any event. « less

I spent two nights at this hotel on business. I made reservations online. Check in and check out were a breeze. Those were the only contacts I had with staff and had no problems there.
The room itself was clean and nice. The furniture seemed a little old, but aside from a few scuffs and scratches, was fine for my needs. I was particularly surprised by the TV, which looked like it was from the 1980's. It was rather small, maybe a 17" screen. The selection of channels was disappointing as well (no Comedy Central). Internet wifi was free and worked well though. The room was little more than a bed and a desk, no fridge or microwave.
I did not eat at the hotel or use many other amenities, so I cannot speak to that. There were also not many restaurants nearby unless you drove a few miles.
As with just about all hotels within an hour of NYC, it is a little pricier than you would expect to pay for a similar room in most of the rest of the country, but it seemed in line with what I have come to expect in the area.
Bottom line: it is a nice place to stay. However, if you are like me and tend to want to lie in the room and watch TV in the evening, a new flat screen would be a big plus. « less

Good day to you and thank you for staying with us. We truly appreciate your business. Please accept our apologies for the television in your room. All our Televisions have been changed to 32" flat screens for quite some time. This particular day the Television in this room was in need of repair and was replaced with an older model as it was not returned from the service company by days end. We do have multiple spares and unfortunately this particular day all were in use; again please accept our sincerest of apologies. We have since returned the original Television to its rightful place. Thank you again for staying with us and writing this review.
