Stayed here 10 nights in early May. Very good service from all staff, helped by the hotel being generally quiet as low season. Initially had a standard room, in the older block. The room was good size, but the bathroom was very cramped. The room, and bathroom particularly could have done with a deep clean. Had a moisture problem and after a couple of conversations reception moved us to a deluxe room with door onto the pool. This difference made our holiday! Lovely room, clean modern bathroom and the views were lovely. The food is also worth mentioning- interesting, varied set menus, not too westernised (a problem in a lot of Sri Lankan hotels) and always beautifully presented. Overall a great stay and a highly recommended hotel...four stars. « less

We had a great day at the Sea last weekend! It was spur of the moment trip that I took with my wife (I'm writing the review for her) and we thought of taking a break from our other favorite Jetwing property, the Lagoon, and try the Sea for a change. We booked one of the suites and loved every bit of our stay including the great food, amazing atmosphere at the hotel, the great service by the staff, and the beach which was literally steps away from the hotel. We'd like to specially thank Mr. Elvis, the Manager at the reception who took great care of us and even allowed us a later-than-usual checkout. We'd definitely be back very soon. Thanks for your great hospitality.

We missed our transit flight in colombo back from our Honeymoon, so Sri lankan airlines gave us a one night transit at the Jetwing Sea hotel. The hotel is in Negombo which is closer to the airport. All the staff always greeted us with a smile. Ms. Liza (The receptionist) was always cheerful and made us feel special by giving us one of the best room with the best view in the hotel. We arrived late for lunch when buffet was over and she made special arrangement for both of us specially for lunch. I wasn't expecting such delicious food with the right amount of spices, taste and quantity along with a special dessert. There were couple of cute squirrel that made our day, came very close to us and ate what we gave them. At night we had a 5 course meal which was fantastic, though the light was a bit dim to eat. Spa was great, and rightly priced. The room was huge and a spacious bathroom and The balcony had a beautiful view of the sunset. The beach is good. Thankyou Ms. Liza and Jetwing Hotel for making this a wonderful trip. Would happily be back. When we were departing after breakfast she even escorted us to the car! This hotel (including dinner and breakfast) was provided for us by SriLankan Airlines as a stop-over. They might want to re-think the places they send their business-class passengers to spend the night. Check-in was quick and efficient, but no information was offered unless you asked; such as, when and where is dinner and breakfast? is there wifi? The room was a good size, but could have been cleaner. The mattress and pillows were good, so we had a good night's sleep. The bathroom was very small and cramped, as well as being dirty and in need of repair. If the hotel staff weren't so friendly and helpful we wouldn't have given an 'average' review - it would have been 'poor'. If we were choosing and paying for the hotel ourselves, we wouldn't stay here. « less

This trip was an anniversary and an early 70th birthday treat for my hubby. The young man who checked us in, sorry name has gone, was extremely pleasant and took us to our 4th floor deluxe room. At the end of the corridor so no probs with noise from other guests. The most gigantic room, comfortable bed and bathroom! Great sea view completed my wish list. Loved the walk in shower which was easier for me. When the Guest Relation manager, Elvis, saw I used a stick he immediately checked if we would prefer ground floor room. We assured him it was fine where we were, it has a lift so didn't need to use stars. A complimentary bottle of wine, a cake and fruit was delivered to our room and a gorgeous sea food meal was offered on the day of our choice- it was our anniversary whilst there. The housekeeping boys made a lovely arrangement on our bed which must have taken ages. Clean bed linen, towels and toiletries as well as 2 bottles of water were dealt with daily. We had bed & breakfast and enjoyed trying some of the restaurants which are very close to the hotel. We also had one a la carte dinner on the evening when we had torrential rain. We enjoyed the breakfasts, some lunches and the dinners we had at the Sea. The beach was not cleanest or the best thing about the Sea, so we only walked at the edge of the water. The pool attendant was very good and as we stayed for 6 days, smiled when he saw us and provided me with 2 mattresses,after I asked once, for the sun bed. The pool was very clean and lovely temperature. An easier option of steps instead of the ladders would have made it ideal. Would most certainly use this hotel again if in the Negombo area. « less
