I was scuba diving for the weekend and didn't want to drive back to San Jose. The rate was excellent and the location was convenient. The room was clean and comfortable. The amenities were very basic, barely enough soap and shampoo for one shower. I left too early in the morning to be able to comment on the "free" breakfast. If I was in need of an overnight room again and the super rate was available, I would stay there again. I wouldn't use this hotel if I was bringing my wife for a romantic weekend. « less

Unreal! The smell and the stains on the bed! The blanket I got for my chihuahua is in better shape than the comforter on these beds! My 2 yearold slept on a sleeping bag we had cause no way I would let him lay down the ones there. Please pay a little more and get a better place. « less

I had stopped at Red Roof Inn which is down the street from Quality Inn & was appalled at how dirty their rooms were. I then went to Quality Inn & was very impressed with how nice this hotel is. Cathy was so nice & very helpful in giving me advice on where to eat. The room was very spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. I liked the room so much and Cathy was so friendly that I stayed an extra day. If I ever go to Monterey again, this is the only place that I will stay. « less

I use Choice Hotels points for this stay, but checking prices, this one is good for the area. Outside and inside were clean. Of course this is off season, there weren't many guests during our stay. Comfortable bed, rather spacious room, but very tiny closet. Easy access to Highway 1 and 68. Fremont Street is one of Monterey's motel row. Follow Casa Verde towards the ocean and follow Del Monte and it'll take you to Wharf, Cannnery Row, aquarium and so on. Odd breakfast though, cup o noodles and hot dogs along with bagels and sausages. I gave it 2 star because (though my sheet had been washed) but had some sort of black stained/marks. Also the mattress skirt had some rips. The heater control is almost useless. The room was cold when we got there, so we tried setting it to 68 or 70 (there's a lot of play on the knob,) then it got too hot, turned it off but it stayed on low. Very small lobby. You need a different key (not your room key) to get Ice, which is in the laundry room at the back end of the hotel. « less

How this place got a "Quality Inn" name is beyond me. We've done business with Quality Inns for years so we didn't hesitate to book this location. What a mistake....

How this place got a "Quality Inn" name is beyond me. We've done business with Quality Inns for years so we didn't hesitate to book this location. What a mistake. Don't be fooled by the pictures. I believe they're airbrushed.... The sheet rock inside was damaged and badly patched, the bedding very old and stained, the electrical outlets are broken and unusable, etc. In addition, the room was dirty. I've written to their corporate office to give them a heads up, but heard nothing. We'll be looking for other options in the future. « less
