It's a beautiful hotel with so many areas that need improvement...
The check in was smooth and was delighted to find out that our room was ready since we arrived a little earlier than the usual check in time, 3pm. While going over the guidelines on hotel credit usage, I let them know that I have no interest in any tour or the information on the Palace Resort membership program and was happy that they did not bother me with it during my stay.
As soon as I hit the buffet at International restaurant for lunch, I was a bit disappointed...
The salad bar selection was so poor and nothing really looked appetizing. I have to say that I did have a high expectation considering this hotel is rated as #1 hotel in Cancun area and also frequently mentioned in Conde Nast. My first visit in Cancun was at Live Aqua last year and I couldn't believe the quality of venue and service for the value, and thought I will try Le Blanc since many reviews mention the excellent quality of food. However, what I saw was far worse than what I would get, even at an inexpensive buffet in US. These are the things I have noticed during my stay at Le Blanc and I hope it will be helpful both for future guests and the management staff at Le Blanc.
The buffet selection was limited and the staff had hard time understanding your request. When we asked eggs 'over hard', we got a puzzled look and our eggs came back runny and raw. Asked for an egg white omelette and got regular yellow omelettes two days in a row. The second time, I asked the grill lady for an egg white, she nodded but again gave me a regular omelette. The entire serving staff just lacked in training in terms of serving food but very well trained to always answer you with 'my pleasure, it's pleasure'. I really don't need someone to carry my plate to five steps away table, when I am already carrying it over there myself, but would appreciate it when pouring coffee they wouldn't splatter all over my coffee cup and the saucer. I have some experience with restaurant service myself and what I witnessed at Le Blanc just lacks quality in both service and food.
The first night dinner, we tried Italian restaurant. Other than freshly baked mediterranean style pita bread, everything else was a bit shocking. The pasta sampler was just sweet and awful, the sea bass was dry and hard instead of tender and flaky. I was beginning to feel mortified considering the cost and the fact that I had recommended this place to my boyfriend and planned the entire trip. We just liquored ourselves up a little and tried to enjoy what we have. When my desserts came, I pointed out that one of the desserts isn't what I ordered. Our server just smiled and mumbled something and still left it on our table.
The second day, we tried Asian restaurant. What a mistake, and such a shame... Rice was clammy and cold, and of course sweet with lots of vinegar too. Only thing I forced myself to enjoy was the tempura. Nothing tasted the way it was supposed to. Ordered some hot sake and they served it in espresso cups. We just chuckled because we didn't know what else to do. Some rolls I had, the rice was actually hard, undercooked, and the stir fried rice was more like stir fried porridge...
Only place we enjoyed was the French restaurant. I regretted not eating there more than once. A reservation is required and the dress code is 'formal' but I saw guests wearing flip flops and shorts too. The filet was probably one of the best I had, perfectly cooked and even the wine reduction sauce was delicious. We met some other couples from US and UK, and they all recommended the tasting menu and that's what we got.
The pool concierge people work so hard and the towel service and beachside service was very nice. My favorite staff was Julio. Ironically he spoke better English and more professional than any other people I met at Le Blanc. I mostly ordered guacamole and chips. It's convenient and easy, so food was mediocre but I had no complaints. It was what I expected.
All the restaurants have beautiful decor and great ambiances. Just the quality of food was below average in my opinion, except French.
And about the room; it was clean and nice. French balcony is a bit disappointing but I knew about it. The bathroom door was always squeaking and showed age of the hotel. Not too crazy about the lay out of the room with a huge jacuzzi in sitting area. In the mornings, I can hear housekeeping talking and cleaning next door and there were sounds coming from every direction. The butler service is so unneccesary but I can see how some people would love that type of attention. It wasn't so useful to me, because most of the times when I needed something, no one was available at the butler desk and I was transferred to the front desk.
I won't go back to Le Blanc. Unless you are drinking 24/7, it's just not worth it. I would much rather stay at Live Aqua again, considering the location, value and quality. I chose Le Blanc expecting better quality of food and amenities but the impression I got was they focus too much on presentation, appearance and unnecessary extras that they are missing things that really matter. I really think the GM needs to closely examine the quality of training his staff is receiving because they just simply lack the basics of hospitality of a five start hotel should possess. « less

I just returned from LeBlanc last week and my only regret is that I only booked 5 days! I stayed from May 8th - May 12th. We arrived at LeBlanc and were greeted warmly at the door. Inside during the check-in we were given a glass of Coconut Milk and cold wash cloth. The girl who checked us in was warm and professional. She seemed happy to be there to check us in.
Our butler, Carlos (from the 8th floor) came down to greet us in the lobby and took us up to our room to give us a tour. He was funny and personable and quite honestly one of the highlights of our trip. We didn't really ask for anything (not used to having a butler), but throughout the week Carlos provided us little surprises. Champagne, cake, balloons, and a Happy Birthday banner, as well as a hot bath were waiting for me when I returned to my room on my birthday. Carlos is a gem and Le Blanc is so fortunate to have so many employees like him :)
We made it a point to eat at Lumiere, BlancInternational, the oriental, and Italian restuarants. ALL of them were stellar. We aboslutely LOVED the tasting menu at Lumiere. Having never eaten French food before it was an adventure :) The Oriental restaurant was a close second favorite for me, but the first favorite for my boyfriend. I very much enjoyed the Blanc International breakfast and lunch buffets. There was always a wide variety of food choices and I was never disappointed.
We were at LeBlanc for a friend's wedding and everything about her event was perfect from the cocktail hour on the beach the night before the wedding, to the ceremony at the gazebo, to the reception on the deck facing the sunset!
Our Ocean View Honeymoon suite was amazing! We slept with the french doors open each night so we could feel the breeze and listen to the waves crashing. We watched the sun rise every morning from bed.
My boyfriend and I could never consider booking elsewhere if we return to Cancun. We are certain any other establishment would be a disappointment after experiencing LeBlanc.
The only complaint I have is sooooo minor compared to the whole experience that its almost not worth mentioning, but I want to give a heads up to people planning ahead. A very nice woman assisted me via email with planning the Aquatwister Jungle Tour 2 weeks prior to me going to Cancun. She emailed me a confirmation which I printed, but she failed to mention I would need to pick up a ticket when I got to LeBlanc. When it came time to depart on a bus for the tour our names were on the list, but I had no ticket and wasn't even aware I needed one. This almost caused us to miss the tour and that would have been a huge disappointment. Basically - just a heads up - if you schedule any tours / trips / spa treatments ahead of time, check about getting your "tickets" as soon as you check in :)
You can't go wrong with LeBlanc! Have a great trip! « less

We stayed at Le Blanc for 5 days and only regret not having booked more time. There is not one bad thing that can be said about this hotel. They pamper you from the minute you step in to the minute you check out. The staff is amazing, they are always eager to help in a professional and friendly manner. Special thanks goes out to Jesus Maya, our concierge, he was exceptional. Food was fresh and delicious. Spa services are the best we've ever experienced, beach and pool were incredible. We couldn't have chosen a better place for our honeymoon and are already planning our trip back to Le Blanc. Highly recommend it!!!! « less

The hotel was spectacular. This was our first visit to Le Blanc and it surely did not disappoint. The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained. Every staff member goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and are enjoying your holiday! We were on vacation with 4 other couples and we had an absolute blast! It was hard to get the restaurants to accommodate a party of 10, but we managed and didn’t go hungry! It was great to have luxury all day, but have the option to head off property for a bolder nightlife. We could walk to Senor Frogs and other fun night spots. It was also a cheap taxi ride if you prefer a ride.
•Check-in: fast and easy •Guest Rooms: modern, clean, comfy bed, great views (ocean views are better than Lagoon but the partial ocean is just as lovely as oceanfront). The mini fridge is always stocked with cold drinks and snacks. We used our Jacuzzi tub every night. Our butlers Alex and Daniel were AWESOME. We asked them draw our tub each night around 6:00pm so we could enjoy it after a day at the beach and before getting ready to head out for dinner. We enjoyed the aromatherapy each night as well. The butlers will pretty much do anything you ask, but we kept our requests to a minimum, just because we prefer to do most things on our own •Restaurants: Loved the buffet for both breakfast and lunch - made to order omelets for breakfast and meat or fish stir fry for lunch - delish! Plenty of options so you'll leave satisfied and full. We also ate at the Italian, Asian and third floor (no name?) restaurants and eh, all three were just fine. I preferred room service or the food offered by the pool best! •Drinks: were top shelf (if you ask!) and delicious! Electric Lemonade - get it! •Beach: was nice; sand was soft and the water was a beautiful blue. The beach attendants are quick to set up chairs and umbrella for you when you arrive. Food and Beverage service is a bit slow so if you’re in a rush, walk up to the beach bar. •Main Pool: infinity pool - large and refreshing. Pool bar was great and there are several waitresses walking around taking drink orders BUT the service is a tad slow. Swim up to the bar if you want something quicker. The view from the edge of the pool is just awesome. No activities offered at this pool. •Lagoon Pool: a lot more quiet than the main pool but equally as nice. This pool offers volleyball and other activities. There is also chess, jenga and foosball around the outskirts of the pool. •Third Fl Pool: didn’t interest us because of the size and lack of “stuff to do” – but the view is amazing •Spa: We enjoyed a 50 minute couples massage and the spa amenities. The spa is beautiful and it offers a steam room, sauna and several whirlpools - great place to relax. We enjoyed our massage but of course wish it was longer :)
Unlike other reviewers, we were not approached by anyone selling timeshare. We also did not know much about your resort credits – thankfully the majority of the people in our group did and were able to fill us in.
All and all great trip, beautiful resort and we look forward to returning! « less
