Our room was clean, but small, and looked onto the ugly backside of another building. The staff was very friendly and the lobby area was nice. I sat there for a few hours reading because there was no comfortable chair in the room, just a desk chair. The location was within walking distance to some small restaurants and shops.
This property is not easily accessible to anyone with mobility issues. You need to be able to navigate stairs just to get inside. Since I walk with a cane, it was difficult for me. The bathroom was small, and the shower is in the tub. The bed, although comfortable, takes up most of the room. As another reviewer noted, the pillows were awful. They felt like they were filled with chunks of foam rubber. While there may not be any quick and cheap fixes for its other challenges, they can certainly change out the pillows for a small expense . . . and they should.
We didn't try the complimentary breakfast. The flight of stairs to access it just made it easier to go out to a restaurant. « less

Just returned from a 2 night stay, very pleased with the experience. The rooms are tastefully updated without trying to be pretentious. The spa area was a very nice and unexpected treat! Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was fine, nothing spectacular essentially what you would expect at a Best Western. Might be a bit of a stretch to call this place a boutique hotel, I think it's more like a very nicely appointed motel. Overall a very nice stay and I'd definitely stay there again! I just wish they'd change the music in the lobby! « less

The photos are a little misleading as is the write-up. The staff are very friendly and as a motel I have no qualms about it. As a boutique hotel (as written on their vehicle and in some of the literature) it is lacking. Our room was adequate but facing the road, which is noisy. We hadn't expected the location to be quite so urban, as the photos lead you to believe it is more isolated. The spa was a bonus and the bed very comfortable with good linen. Strangely we had a broken lamp on one side of the bed and no lamp at all on the other. The breakfast is basic and the breakfast room dismal with quite awful furniture and stained carpet. A shame. I wish the hotel well but they need to give the place a face-lift if they want to aspire to boutique hotel status. « less

Good value for going in the ski season during Spring Break.
Friendly staff, updated spa. Close to shopping with a grocery, movie theater and several restaurants. Pet friendly. Room was clean. They offer humidifiers if you ask for one at the front desk.
The only gripe we had was that the pillows in our room were not good quality. Like old lint balls stuffed into sacks. « less

I almost hate to share this little secret spot! I have been enjoying Mammoth outdoor sports for nearly 50 years and have stayed in many, many hotels . But Mammoth Creek Inn exceeded nearly every expectation. The staff were wonderful and extremely accommodating. I was concerned with having to drive up to the lift areas...not a concern because Brandon took us in the morning and picked us up when we were finished at the end of the day. Their continental breakfast was just enough and also included fresh oatmeal and hard boiled eggs. Don't forget your bathing suit because their spa area looked great with a hot spa pool and sauna rooms. The rooms were very clean with recently renovated bathrooms. Room walls were a bit thin & noisy. « less
