I live in town, but because of a series of unfortunate events our anniversary plans had to include our 6 year old daughter. We arrive around 7 without reservations. Clyde checked us into a king jr suite! It had a large living room area! The location was awesome, it is located right on the main strip on Bay Area blvd. In texas you have to have a car, if I was staying there as a business traveler this would be perfect! We walked to dinner across the parking lot. Had ice cream at Ben & Jerry's. The pool is indoors which I really appreciate it gets hot down here in texas. The hot tub was an added bonus. We only stayed one night but would definitely stay again! Also they serve a full breakfast nothing continental about it. Try the make your own texas shaped waffles! « less

This hotel is nicely situated off of the highway. Easy to identify and get to. Plenty of restaurants, shops and conveniences in the area. Everything I needed (fedex/kinkos, petco, mall, restaurants, etc) are within a 2 minute drive which is really nice. There was also several restaurants within a 5-10 minute walking distance. I felt safe walking my dog behind the hotel along the sidewalks, day and night.
I came in the lobby to find fresh lemonade and freshly made cookies ready. This is so nice when hotels do these little extras for weary travelers. Check in was a breeze and the guy at the counter was incredibly nice and made me feel really welcome. He gave me some extra bottles of water for being an elite member.
The hotel is newly built and it shows. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The furniture in the rooms are new and nice. The bathroom is large and very clean. The room smelled amazing when I came in. I got a double queen room so my dog could have her own bed (how do dogs manage to take up an entire king bed?) I do not remember my room number but we faced the back of the hotel which gave me a view of a large grassy field and other hotels in the distance.
Check out was easy. I would definitely stay here again. Great value for my money. « less
