Had car trouble in Metaire, La. Honda Dealershiop shutteld us to this Hotel that we picked from coupon book. Arrived around noon and expalined what had happened to front desk person who said she was the manager. Rudest prson I have ever spoken to. Told us we would have to wait until 3:00 to check in because that was their normal check in time. This was on May 13 and our car was not going to be ready until the 15th. Well on the 15th we were told by Honda that our car would not be ready until the 16th, so I had to do some laundry. After putting clothes in washer, I noticed that the door to maids closet was not closed properly, so I opened it and the fire alarm went off. First person to check out was from hotel and found nothing. Firemen came and asked me if I had seen anyone. I explained that someone went down the stairs and that I opened the door and fire alarm went off. Firemen opened the door and alarm went off and smoke came pouring out of the closet. The firemen dertermined that it was the dryer that was causing the problem. Manager came and firemen asked him for key to open dryer. He stated that someone had thrown a cigarette down the laundry shoot and looked at me. Fireman told him that was not the problem, it was the dryer and unplugged it. I asked the manager what he was going to do about my laundry since I could not dry it and I had saved his hotel from catching fire and his response was that " I was interfearing with his investigation and he was going to call police." It took me two hours to get my clothes back and never got a "Thank You" for saving hotel from catching fire. « less

My friends and I were in town for the N.O. Jazz Fest. After driving for 12 hours through the night and arriving at 10am, all we wanted to do was shower and take a nap. However, even though our rooms were vacant, “clean”, and ready, the front desk agent, who didn’t even address us until after she was finished placing her lunch order on the phone, informed me that we could not check in early without a $20 cash (because “the machine was down”) early check in fee. For someone who works in the hotel industry, I found an early check-in fee to be quite ridiculous. However, after a few moments of discussing this issue, we paid the $20 Cash so we could unpack & relax. After 30 minutes in the room, the front desk agent sent the houseman to have me come down to the desk. I assumed this was to speak to a manager per my request. However, the manager simply called me down to make sure I knew that the front desk person was a “good employee” and that I shouldn’t be upset with her. He did not once apologize for the inconvenience to me and my friends. Location to Bourbon Street and other tourist attractions is decent, but not worth the horrific customer service. The night Manager was the only employee that knew what she was doing. « less

The front desk staff are incredibly unfriendly and have no concept of "who the customer is." Why be in the hotel business if you are going to treat people like garbage?? The room was ok but the pocket door leading to the bathroom was stuck and did not close. The iron was broken and leaked all over my suite pants. The cold cereal continental breakfast is best skipped - however take a banana. There were no filters in the room coffee pot so that was useless. It was the worst $220/night hotel I've ever experienced. However, kudoos to the maintenance man - the only hospitable employee in the building. He should definitely find a better place to work!! « less
