My wife and I used some frequent flier miles and Marriott reward points to spend a long weekend in Vegas for our "babymoon" before the arrival of our 2nd child. Our experience was similar to many other reviewers as we were extremely happy with the close proximity to the strip and the City Center area in particular. We had several different meals at restaurants inside the Cosmopolitan which was an easy walk, even for my 6 month pregnant wife. I think taking a cab would have actually been harder, considering traffic, etc. I also found that even though I booked using points and wasn't an owner, they honored my usual requests for a high floor and extra feather pillows. Considering that the property is still under construction, this was one concern, however with a Friday check-in and Tuesday check-out we were totally unaffected and were it not for the obvious crane outside one of the buildings we would not have even known. One tip that I can't stress enough for those on a longish stay: use the Walgreens to stock up on reasonably priced (for the Vegas strip area) food and drinks. We probably shopped at the Walgreens 3 times and we were only there for 4 days. Of course the hotel does offer a shuttle to Wal-Mart if you REALLY need to do some heavy duty grocery shopping, but for us the WalGreens was perfect. Also, as noted by just about every other reviewer, the pool is really a joke and might as well not even be there. We overheard another guess exclaim "where's the big people pool at?" when they saw it for the first time. I couldn't help but laugh, because her comments were appropriate. Hopefully the new pool when the renovation is finished will make up for this shortcoming. I thought the exercise room was a little on the small side for a hotel this size, but again it will be supposedly upgraded with the renovation complete. « less

We are just checking out after a week in a two bedroom unit that we traded for through Interval International. 14th floor, nice view. Kitchen has all the dishes,pots and pans and pretty much everything you need except salt and pepper. Right next to planet Hollywood and the Miracle Mile so this is one place you could go a whole week and not rent a car. They have a shuttle to Walmart to pick up your groceries and it is an easy walk either to Mandalay Bay or all the way up to Treasure Island.may just over a mile and with so much to see you don't mind the distance. If you can't walk that far there are buses every few minutes. Pool is on the roof with a great view of New York-New York, Nice pool and Hot Tub. Great bar to grab a drink and enjoy the sun and the view. Note if you do rent a car the parking is valet. they park it and then go get it for you (No Exceptions) so figure on a couple bucks tip every time you get your car. They are prompt and courteous and the garage is locked so your car is safe at all times. Check in was wonderful, the concierge was very helpful. Actually all the staff were very nice. Management must treat the staff well as you won't see anything but smiling faces. If you just rent or trade for the one bedroom (lock off) it will come with a nice table and chair for 2 by the window, a fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee pot.Much better than your typical hotel room. This would be a great location for a family get away. Plenty of room and shopping right next to the gambling. We will definitely be coming back here again. « less

This hotel fits the needs of a family traveling to Vegas in style. Only about a half of a block from the strip and direct views from the room this hotel has it all. With suites to fit families large and small kitchens and laundry facilities you have the amenities you need to accommodate the whole family. More and more people are enjoying the sin city with kids in tow so the rooftop pool is a huge hit for the kids. With a view of the hard rock and the strip. The kids can swim to their hearts content, moms can bask in the sun while the poolside misters keep you cool under all that desert sun and dads can grab a cold beer. I enjoyed this hotel because it was the little calm and relaxation that is required after a day of over stimulation of the senses on the strip. Take it easy with a stay here. « less
