There are some basics I expect of even budget motels in this day and age. Cleanliness goes without saying so what's left is a comfortable bed, multiple TV channels and Wifi. THe Quality Inn and Suites Boulder Creek gets the first right. THe bed was comfy, the pillows soft, the sheets crisp.
As for the TV and wifi, though, they were haphazard at best. First the TV - they have about 20 channels, half of which (the networks and 2 ESPNs) are HD. Except they kept cutting out. For no reason. We called the desk (a lot) and at first they said it was a fluke and would come back on, but a later call got a different desk clerk, who suggested that we change the channel to 30 and that usually made it come back on (it didn't) Obviously, it's a problem of long standing.This went on the whole time we were there (5 days) and with the exception of one desk clerk who denied it was happening, everyone was terribly sympathetic but they never did get it fixed.
THe wifi was much the same. It would cut out for no reason and come back on later. Sometimes it ran really slowly, at other times it was fine. We tried to ascertain a pattern but there didn't seem to be one. Altogether, it was very annoying.
The property doesn't look like much, but they try hard. A big proper breakfast is included and when our AC stopped blowing cold air they replaced the unit in a matter of minutes. I left some shoes in the room and they were great about getting them back to me. It's a good location but not near enough to Pearl street for us to walk it (about a mile each way) The impression I got from the website and the name of the property was that the Boulder Creek Path would be directly out the back door of the hotel but in fact it's about 1/2 a mile way through the campus of the University. We never did get back there.
The good news is that if you are a Loyalty Program member with them you can get a really cheap rate. We were there for just over $105 a night. I'm not sure I'd book it again, though. I'm just too computer/tv dependant. « less

Arrived late on a business trip, nice thing about this place is it is near the main roads but not on them. Room was clean, all the amenities were there and the staff was eager the help. Down the street are shopping centers to pick up basics, clothes and other items. My room didn't have a closed door closet but that was fine. Toilet is a two button toilet meant for water conservation. Overall a good stay, I didn't use the hotels services much. « less

I think this hotel is a wonderful deal in a very convenient location. You can tell the property has been converted into a Choice Hotels property (most of the rooms have an external entry). If you can, try to reserve rooms 101, 102, or 103. They are separate from the main building (no rooms above you), and they have a really cool skylight feature. The employees are all very nice and helpful. There are a ton of sites within walking distance (<15 minutes), including all the shops and restaurants on Pearl St.
However, don't expect luxury; it is a value property. All in all, I would stay here again, though. « less

I booked this hotel based on two things; it's proximity to the downtown area and the car park facility. I arrived around 930 pm on Friday night and check in was quick and easy. My room was on the ground floor which did create an issue in that the windows were at street level which really meant I had to keep the curtains drawn. This did make the room a bit dark for my tastes. However, it was clean and well furnished. I didn't use the facilities like the laundry so can't comment on them. The wifi is a bit slow - don't expect to stream movies etc. The location is very good - Pearl Street is about a fifteen walk along safe streets, even late at night. I would happily stay here again if I was visiting Boulder. By the way, there are free cookies in reception in the evening! « less

This is a 2.5 star hotel, so don't expect luxury, but this hotel delivered on quality. As noted in other reviews, the rooms are on the small side, but more than adequate for two people and clean/well appointed. The location is good (you can walk to Pearl Street), parking was easy, the staff was very helpful, and the pool and sauna were nice features. We had a great stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quality place to lay their head in Boulder. « less
