Very nice accommodations with easy access to key locations around the city. The hotel met all of my needs for the conference I was attending. The staff was responsive to any requests for services to my room. Individuals performing bell service were very pleasant and extremely helpful. I would have liked more variety of equipment in the exercise room. Also, the pool area was nice, but I noticed that some guests had left a lot of their containers and trash behind without cleaning up after themselves. Staff should pay attention to this. « less

Everything you have come to expect from Embassy Suites with an added bonus. Yep. RuthChrist restaurant as well. The hotel is near downtown with a great bar, nice rooms, and a great view. Nice bar and lobby are as expected. Within walking distance from the major entertainment venue – the Von Braun Center. Big Spring Park is just across the street. « less

Angry enough to give them a one rating, but that would be unfair. This is really a service/management issue. Fairly simple. No air conditioning. In the state of Alabama that can be a problem. Perplexing that at 11PM at night no one picks up the phone in the hotel. Attempt to contact three speed dials and all I get is ringing, no answer, no recording. Finally, 30 minutes later, after calling the main reservation number I get security and they track down the "manager". Apparently, I'm told, that I called during a "shift change", so somehow this explains why they don't answer the phones. Politely asked to speak with the GM or Assistant GM, they did not pickup their lines either. Never solved the air conditioning problem, no returned call from the management as I asked. « less

The Room was nice but that was the only highlight. At breakfast the eggs were runny, the coffee was so hot it burned my mouth instantly, and the bacon was very dry and tasted awful. I was also overcharged for internet service after leaving. Will not be going back to this place; way overpriced for the poor food and overcharge. « less
