Was really impressed with the staff at this place on a lonely Sunday travel night. Jen who worked the restaurant bar was a nice surprise to the group of weary Sunday night road warriors. My only issue was being in a room above I-275. A 2:30 motorcycle race woke me up. Try to get a room up front as the back of the property is right up against the freeway. Apparently, the steak place next door is rockin'. « less

First - This hotel is well located, reasonably priced, clean, and the desk staff was very pleasant. But the very uncomfortable beds added to freeway noise (we were on the freeway side) made sleeping problematic. This building used to be an Embassy Suites (A new Embassy Suits sits on the south side of the freeway) which has been updated in the last few years. The rooms are nice but the update falls a little short in areas like electric out lets, interior doors, and small details. But the real concern was pillow-top beds that have been used so much they are permanently indented and lumpy. I suggest the next upgrade be focused on the sleeping experience. I don't see us returning. « less

I stayed here for one night in March 2013. The suites are truly suites with two separate rooms. There are flat screen t.v.s in each room. All the amenities you could ask for are here. The hotel's restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. I got a very good rate from Booking.com of about $95. Great choice for a quick trip to the airport when leaving Tampa. « less

I searched for a long time as there were so many properties to choose from. My decision was made to stay here because there were 3 of us, so we went for the "suites." We each had our own sleeping areas and shared the bathroom. I will second the notions about dim lighting in the bathroom, no biggie but the bed was the Best ever. Sleeper sofa, not so much. Mall very close for shopping, steakhouse, next door, but we just chilled at the hotel. We used the hotels restaurant for all three meals, as the port was evacuated due to a bomb scare. The hotel was VeryNice in letting us extend our checkout as we couldn't go to the port until all was clear around 4:30, but had to vacate room at 2:00pm. All staff were very nice, ambiance very pretty and food yummy. Complimentary Starbucks coffee at check in desk was a wonderful plus. They also offered a shuttle to the port, which they charged I believe 10.00pp, which wasn't offered due to bomb scare. They catered more to the airport, and port was offered at 11.30am and 12.30, which on this particular day, didn't work, so we arranged a shuttle with someone recommended by the staff from the hotel, as we stayed there until the port opened back up. Can't go wrong with this property! Enjoyed our stay, nice and quiet. « less
