Stayed for 4 nights late April 2013. Great location - 10 minutes walk from museum mile and central park. Lots of handy amenities on the doorstep and close to subway.
Room was beautifully clean and perfectly kitted out with all the essentials. Much handier than a traditional hotel.

After three days staying in Times Square for a conference it was a bit of a relief to switch to a quiet neighbourhood for a week's vacation in New York City. This hotel is on 94th Street and is a quiet area really with not a lot going on. It's a short walk to the subway though and you're on the route to many of the good places to visit in the city.
We bought a deal on one of the discount websites which may explain why we got an apartment on the 4th floor rather than one of the quieter upper floors. That said, we didn't find it particularly noisy, given some of the other reviews we have read on TripAdvisor and didn't struggle to get a good night's sleep, mind you we were in NY and not interested in having a lie-in. Good shower with excellent water pressure.
The staff were lovely and super helpful, Dennis the concierge in particular was funny and had great suggestions for travelling around the city.
The hotel as far as I know lacks some of the amenities of more luxury hotels such as room service and in hotel restaurants but we were not interested in using this kind of facility. Recommended for travellers looking for a good base in NYC where you are looking to get out and about rather than hang out in their hotel room. « less

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights with my wife and grown-up daughters, and we had a 30th floor apartment with stunning view of the upper-east side. Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was well-maintained and clean. I'd recommend this as a place to stay for older family groups or couples visiting the city. Drawbacks: the heating / cooling system needs updating and the showers were poor (low water-pressure). But these were minor inconveniences, and overall the hotel was excellent. « less
