This new, innovative hotel is located on the fashionable La Rambla del Raval avenue, just minutes from Las Ramblas and within walking distance of numerous major attractions in the historical heart of the city.
The hotel boasts comfortably-equipped, stylish rooms and a welcoming atmosphere throughout. Amongst the services and facilities there is a bar, a breakfast room, a cyber corner and a garage.
Rambla de Raval is a relatively new avenue that was built to link the MACBA (Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona) with Plaça de Colom. Situated close to the Teatre del Liceu, Plaça Catalunya, the port and the Gothic Quarter, the area is well-served by public transport and, being so central, you will be able to reach many monuments and landmarks on foot.

Having read some very mixed reviews about this hotel and the area, I was a little daunted! At first glance the tree lined street looks a little tatty with grafitti on shutters. However- there was grafitti on shutters everywhere in the city, so don't let it put you off! The hotel was lovely. Modern, immaculately clean and fresh. The reception staff were helpful and efficient. We had a large twin room overlooking the Rambla del Raval (not the Ramblas-a few mins walk away)! The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed with lots of unexpected extras like a bath sponge, comb and toothbrush kit, all boxed on a rack. We were meeting up with friends, and whilst their room was internal and smaller, they also reported the same level of care and attention. The French doors onto a tiny step- out balcony were excellent in terms of sound proofing from this noisy sreet! The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. Fresh, hot French bread, bacon, scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses, fruits, yoghurts and pastries were all available and replenished regularly. There was a rather ineffective toaster which didn't work on the first morning but was replaced. The staff were pleasant and helpful. WiFi was available with a daily code given to anyone who wanted it. Overall, the hotel exceeded my expectations. Some of the streets around it were not so pleasant but at no point did we feel unsafe. They just weren't nice streets! There are bars and restaurants in front of the hotel with pleasant waiting staff who don't hassle you. We booked through a travel agent and paid around £300 each for three nights B and B, our flights from Newcastle, and Shuttle Bus transfers to and from the hotel (worth the extra cost, by the way, to get door to door when you're unfamiliar with the area). We felt that it was worth the money. We would happily stay again and would certainly look out for another Abba hotel in a different country. « less

I stayed in this hotel in March with a girl friend of mine. We did our research before coming to Barcelona to make sure we were staying in a good hotel in a great location for a price within our budget. First of all, this hotel's website pictures are not at all what the hotel looks like when you arrive. Though only a 10 minute walk from Las Ramblas (the main street in Barcelona), this hotel is located in a SKETCHY area. We did not feel comfortable walking home at night as two girls. Even in the daylight, you are surrounded by creepy men and graffiti. The hotel even locks their doors at night and has TWO men stand guard on the inside the hotel.
In addition, the staff is extremely rude, especially the concierge, and snooty when you asked her questions for suggestions on where to eat and what to see. The wifi does not work in the hotel, and instead they charge you to use the downstairs computer for 15 minute intervals. The bathrooms and appliances are also extremely old/out of date.
Overall, this was not a great hotel; I would not recommend this to any girls/women/families who are looking for a hotel in Barcelona. « less

On arrival it took the staff person ages to find our booking, which had been booked through a travel agent, finally after finding it we went up to our room, it had no view and no tea and coffee making facilities. We weren't given a choice of rooms, very disappointed to have paid $240 aus for such a average hotel. The area is rough so hang onto your belongings. The breakfast was horrible and to top it off the toaster was broken and bread was stale. The staff were nice pity the hotel isn't. The foyer is much better than your room will be. Thought there may have been a pool, nope only a very small terrace to sit in which was rather boring. Wouldn't recommend it, must be better for the money. « less

The Service at this hotel was really good. We were given a choice of a room at the front or rear of the hotel. Room was excellent, roomy, A/C, TV (no kettle). There is breakfast available (at €14 per person, a bit steep). We walked five minutes up the road and got a lovely 'local' breakfast forf €11 in total (two people). La Rambla area five minutes walk away, although better to know exactly where you're going, especially at night. Yellow and black taxis available and all metered. The local people were really friendly and helpful. We were warned not to have expensive items (ie cameras) on view and keep wallets safe - isn't everywhere like that for tourists? We took the hop-on, hop-off red and blue line buses (both tours covered by the one bus ticket). Highly recommended to get the feel for a place and then continue on the tour again and get off where you like. One day was not enough for Barcelona. I had thought it a 'beach' area before our visit. The next time will be more cultural, given all the beautiful buildings and places to see. The beach is so near, you can walk after breakfast/lunch! Hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"Thank you, everything went very well and I have recommended your site to several people and I will use you next time I have to make a group booking. You made my job so easy, it was so nice having hotels send bids to me instead of me spending hours calling hotels." J.A. - Mount Pleasant, SC
"I thank you for all your help with the arrangements. I must admit, the offer I received from them through you was by far the cheapest and most convenient out of any others I was offered through other group services. I will not hesitate to recommend your services to anyone. Thank you." J.F. - Portland, OR
