I confess that the name drew me to the website which makes the hotel seem a bit different. And it is. It is a quick 2 stop tram ride to Karls Platz where one can make quick connections to just about everything. The rooms were clean, bathrooms large and clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. In a dozen trips to Europe, the breakfast was the best. And at 2pm they put out coffee and a home made cake in the lobby for guests to enjoy, which is great if you are stopping by for a rest before heading out for the evening. We stayed at Hotel Papageno for a few days at the beginning and again at the end of our trip. I could not wish for a better hotel experience at any price and at Papageno's price, it was an amazingly good value. Mehr sein als Schein. « less

Hotel location is close to the center of Vienna, Karlsplatz, Bellevedere, Stattsoper and Naschmarkt and reachable by foots 15 min. Furthermore there is a tramway station at the hotel (2 stations to Karlsplatz and 5 stations to Stattsoper) The breakfast is really good and enough of chose, fruit, cheese, sweets, several cornflake, eggs, name etc. We enjoy to stay at this hotel during our visit at Vienna.

Really excellent value hotel very close to the centre. More like staying in normal apartment house than a hotel. Simple but spotless, and quite spacious rooms. The ones at the top are especially nice. I paid around €79 a night, which is really good value. Breakfast is fantastic. « less

Stayed there for two nigths at feb 2013. The reception was helpful and the room was big enough. The breakfast was quite poor but had almost everything what it shold have. The service at breakfast room was nice and that was the biggest plus in the whole hotel.
The room was a non smoking but somewhere near was somebody smoking and the smoke came in to the room. Not nice.
The cleaning of the corridors started very early and I woke up because of it.
Can recommend if you dont have high standards but are satisfied with good location and low prices. « less

As you wrote we are a non-smoking hotel and our non-smoking policy stipulates a fine in case of smoking. We are very sorry to hear that oviously somebody did not stick to the rules.
Because of the breakfast we appreciate feedback in order to improve our offer. We usually get positive feedback on our vast breakfast offer. But specific suggestions are always welcome. If guests have particular whishes like gluten-free food or lactose-free milk we always try to fullfil them.
Looking forward to welcoming you another time at the Papageno!
