We are centrally located in Richmond. Near all major interstates. All of our rooms are suites with kitchenettes, geared towards the extended stay customer. Here on property we offer free wi-fi, free laundry facilities and a fitness center. Outside, we have a gazebo and grill for all guests to use. We offer privacy and security at our hotel.
Studio suites have one queen-size bed and are equipped with a kitchenette, including full-size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, range w/ 2 burners, and pots and pans and utensils.
We do have rooms with 2 double beds in them as well.

I took the chance on this hotel since we'd only be staying one night of our travel home. Plus it is part of the points reward program through Holiday Inn Express, which is where we stay quite often. Yuck! First of all, there were dogs allowed in the rooms on our floor who barked during the night. The blowdryer was broken, computer chair ripped and to boot, the light by the door had to stay on all night in order for the bathroom light to go on, so if during the night you needed to pee all the lights in the room came on! The manager chuckled when I told him and he explained a way around the light dilemma in the room but by then, we were through with this place! Surprisingly on a good note the gym was fabulous, LOL! go figure « less

Room was clean and large with full kitchen facilities. Free movies available at the front desk, and the selection was good. Bed was comfortable, wifi worked fine. Will definitely return. « less

I was traveling without reservations and I stop to check the discount guides for a hotel that was not too expensive but yet clean and safe. I selected this proper after I called to confirm rooms were available and get directions. The front desk staff were very professional and the rooms were very nice. I felt at home when I got into my room. This was my first time with Candlewood and I had always wanted to stay in one to see how they compared to other chains. I was not disappointed. A word of caution though, if you are uncomfortable with your hotel being near industrial parks then you may want to choose another place. This hotel is just outside Philip Morris' gates, but to be fair I had no problems with noise or any such issues. Very easy access to and from I-95. Great place to stay for a night or two if you are in the area. « less

After a week on the road we really appreciated the comfortable room, with kitchen, free wifi and free guest laundry downstairs. Blackout curtains ensured a good night’s sleep despite being at the junction of two very busy roads. Minor housekeeping issues that didn;t affect our stay. With a discount coupon it was very good value.
Reception was welcoming and very helpful with directions to supermarket and loan of maps to find our way into the city. We took a short drive into the city, found cheap all-day parking and explored Richmond’s history. Moving on was easy as the motel was close to the roads south to first settlements and Williamsburg.
The only downside was its location, overlooking Phillip Morris in the industrial area of Richmond. A few junk food outlets but no restaurants we’d use within walking or easy driving distance. Many of the guests were working short-term nearby and for them the location was fine.
I’d recommend to other tourists as welcoming, very comfortable and good value if you are prepared to drive everywhere, cook-in (which suited us fine) or eat junk food. « less

Our hotel's south side location can seem to be a disadvantage, but really it offers the best of both worlds. Downtown is just a hop, skip, and a jump, but guests never pay to park at our hotel. And being close to Philip Morris means our guests in town on business don't have far to go. It's a win-win!

Came in on a Saturday for a one night stay with my family of four. Stayed using Priority Club points, so was booked into a studio... but the gentleman at the front desk upgraded us into a one bedroom suite. Awesome, awesome upgrade. It would have been awfully tight in the studio had the guy not found me a one bedroom suite.
I loved the hotel's proximity to the highway, the convenience of the the Candlewood Cupboard (an onsite sundry shop that is run on the honor system), and the kitchen I had in my room.
Overall - the hotel served its purpose by providing clean, comfortable accommodations for my overnight stay. Would definitely be back again as long as I could get 5K point redemption deal I got this time around. « less
