Merlin Guesthouse is a classic historic inn in Key West providing casual lodging at an ideal location. Margaritaville, Sloppy Joe’s Bar, and Ernest Hemingway’s Home are all within easy reach. The nearest beach is just six blocks away. The guesthouse is a gated compound with five buildings that surround a private courtyard and pool. The main building was built in 1930 as a rooming house serving navy personnel stationed at Fort Zachary Taylor. The rooming house has been through many incarnations over the years, from gambling house to bordello, and is now back to offering respectable guest accommodations. Several adjacent buildings were added to the compound in the 1980’s that provide larger guest suites and cottages. Today the guesthouse includes ten original “rooming house” rooms and several king suites and cottages to comprise twenty guest units. Merlin is named after a local “conch” named Merlin Albury, who is now buried at the Key West Cemetery.

The Curry Mansion was built by Florida's first millionaire and has the most beautiful interior in Key West. The three story Victorian is full of antiques which can be enjoyed by our guests or on the self-guided tour. There are three buildings that make up the Inn. The Mansion has four rooms, most of our rooms are located in the Guest Wing located just behind the mansion, opening out onto our pool/courtyard area. The third building is located directly across the street from the Mansion. The James House has eight rooms, four of which are sitting room suites, perfect for families with children.
Daily we offer a complimentary full, hot breakfast with made to order omelets and a two hour open bar cocktail party for our guests. We also offer free onsite parking to our guests. We have an outdoor porch that can accommodate 20 people for meetings.
