The early history of Redding notes that the area was settled by the Wintu Tribe. The city was incorporated on October 4, 1887.

Redding is a vibrant, friendly City that is a gateway to the amazing beauty of the mountains and lakes all around it. The people are so friendly and there is so much to see and do there. A truly great place to be. My husband and I loved it so much we are planning to move there!

Visiting our friend who lives at Starlight Trailer Park. Redding has the friendliest people wherever we stopped: Valero Gas station attendants, Walmart employees, people we asked directions. Wish the rest of the U.S. was this kind, our country would be in a better place.
